RIP Chris Karrer (Amon Düül II)

   I just saw in the RIP thread that Chris Karrer passed away on 2 January aged 76. Chris Karrer is among the most important and influential German prog pioneers, having played on Phallus Dei, which is usually seen as the starting point of the German scene. He was active with ADII pretty much until the end as major driving force. He was interested in music from all around the world, became a master of many styles and brought in many influences. He was a great improviser and not constrained by any traditional limits of song writing. Despite his eclectic approach he had an unmistakable personal style and voice. For me he belongs to the greats of prog and for sure deserves his own thread.
