See the thing with mine is its kinda damaged..so I only get both speakers working if it's on a VERY specific volume.. I haven't messed around with EQ, though it could probably use it on my copy of Tubular Bells

Unofficial releases are hard to value, I would just keep searching the WWW for copies or info. Maybe $2 maybe it's $200......?

CD output is much higher than your cartridge, your CD player is probably around 2V output and a MM cartridge is about 4-5 mV (depending on brand), hence why you need a phono preamp to get it up to line level. If you want to truely A/B then you should use a DB meter (app on your phone is fine) to level match the volume output. I just turn down the volume when playing CDs by ear.

^ Great records......I have:
Now and Zen-Over all a great listen, really good songs on that one. Saga-I originally bought that on cassette (still have it) and several yrs ago found a NM vinyl. I'm a big Saga fan, the recent reissues are excellently done. Tears For Fears-A brilliant album. I have CD, cassette and the 2014 reissue sounds pretty good, side II sounds awesome. Is that an OG pressing? Edited by Catcher10 - December 22 2023 at 09:32 |

^Yes it is, haven't spun it yet though. The Eurythmics is Strong NM, but the Trilogy ended up a disappointment. Listed as NM but really more of a VG at best. I hate it when these guys look at the surface and say "Oh, nice and shiny, must be NM but don't even do a quick surface check. This one opened with over a minute and a half of golf shoes dancing on bubble wrap. My OG copy sounds better, and I was trying to upgrade IT. SIGH ! Luckily it didn't cost much. EDIT (1.5Hr later) Just playing the Tears For Fears now and it is Minty Mint !!!

Not surprised on Trilogy, finding any ELP records better than VG is almost impossible. I have multiple copies of each and best I can get is VG/VG+. Those records were played to death it seems...... Dang, an OG Tears in NM is great!! They run $75 about...

Plus...what's the deal with this stylus? I always thought the AT's were kinda bulky, but this one looks like it's draggin' its @ss across the vinyl. |

Is this yours? This one is easy, the VTA is way off. The tonearm should be parallel to the playing surface, this is showing the tail of the tonearm is way too high.

Really good ones! I got two BlueNote albums. Wayne Shorter~Night Dreamer Stanley Turrentine~Mr Natural (this is a Tone Poet Series) I bought a ton of records the past few months, there was nothing on my list I needed.

Nice pickup! I received the new live Porcupine Tree album a week or so back. (Thanks to someone in this thread for convincing me to buy it! ) I also sniped a fairly cheap OG copy of Magma Attahk!!!!!! Only 10$ on discogs and in fairly good condition.
