Oh, okay. I have no shortage of unpopular opinions when it comes to the music of YES and Van der Graaf Generator.

Unpopular opinion: Mirror to the Sky is the best YES album. Popular opinion: Open Your Eyes is the worst YES album.

My favorite PFM song is a synth pop track from 1984.

^^ Relayer is my favourite but I think Tales is a strong contender. I also prefer Time and a Word to the Yes Album. I haven't listened to Echoes in a long time, but I would pick Shine over it from memory. Think of Me with Kindness is a wonderful song - the best? Not for me. My hottest takes off the top of my head: - I hope this isn't blasphemy but IQ and Galahad don't appeal to me (Not had an exhaustive listen, but I do keep dipping back in) - Folklore is overrated as a BBT album - Yessongs version of Fragile tracks >>>>> Fragile - I prefer Phil Collins era Genesis (with the exception of Selling England), but I prefer Peter Gabriel solo to Collins solo - Flower Kings' Flower Power should be one disc long and it should be called Garden of Dreams - Falling into Infinity >>> Six Degrees and Octavarium |

Subterranea is a mid-tier album. Too Long. Could've used some editing

Hot take, or at least pretty warm: Magma never bettered its 1970 debut, and it's the peak of Magma. But MDK is more quotable (as a cold take).
Cool take: Had Christian Vander guested on an album with Peter Hammill and friends, Vander Graaf Generator would have been a cool name. Luke-warm take: Had Christian Vander teamed up on a film with Mark Hamill as his uncle Peter Hammill's brother, Darth Vander, it would have been cool. Darth Vander: "Luke, Kobaïa is de Hündïn, kreühn köhrmahn iss de hündïn..." Luke Skywalker: "Noooooooooo!" |

^Oh no, I STRONGLY dislike that album. Bored me to tears. Same with The Final Cut (Floyd's worst album by a MILE)

^War Child is a great album!
IQ gets too much praise, and Peter Nicholls singing is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Edited by Grumpyprogfan - November 28 2023 at 05:02 |

It's okay to be passionate for a band (too much praise is never a bad thing)

No, King Crimson didn't invent prog because no one band or artist did. It's only a clone band if a band sets out to try to sound as much as a band as possible. I think Unifaun might be the only band who qualifies in that regard (as a Genesis clone although I never actually heard them). What was the best decade for TD then? The 80s? I won't comment on the others.

Comment received, the Eagles are one of the greatest bands of all time. And never made a bad song (not Prog, even they had a couple proggy moments here and there 'Journey of the Sorcerer') In terms of Prog.. Starless and Buble Black over LTIA, and Islands over Lizard |

I've seen some comments from some fans saying it lacks inspiration. To me, it's a great piece of music, full of inspiration and exciting.
