Nothing YET. I have to get me a proper heat gun for starters. My plan would be for a small wood base to attach the record to via glue gun. But I have to refine the bending/forming process. I'm now thinking of attaching a piece of 1/4" or 3/8" wood dowel to the edge of a board to get the bend smoother.

I have in the past used the picture frame tripod as well. I have both a small wood one and a larger plexiglass one.

Proof of concept...
I rushed the process and as a result broke the record because it wasn't pliable enough. Just used my wife's hair dryer and a couple of cutting boards.
I'll have to hit the Op-Shop for some cheapo LP's to refine the bending/shaping process. I'll also need to add some back support since the LP itself isn't stiff enough to hold a jacket upright.

That's cool Clap What did you attach to the back of the record?

I use a picture holder or also can use a plate holder, like a tripod stand. The plate holder is big enough for the album.

1. Both....Just depends, if I plan a long listening session then I take the cover off.
2. I use the stylus brush included with my cartridge.

1 - Cover Up
2 - Yes I have a stylus cleaning brush. But after every few sessions I have a blob of blu-tack that I drop the stylus in for a few seconds.

I'm thinking maybe an infrared heat lamp might be better to soften it up. More even and higher temp. I'll need to fabricate a jig for bending/forming in one step so it cools correctly. If/when I get it all figured out you might find them on Etsy !

^ well I like the display concept of it.
I love the way you and Jose present your records for listening, so the stand looks terrific for presenting purposes.

JD I've got that exact stand. It's a bit flimsy but it takes 2 or 3 LPs easily.

Well after a little browsing around and seeing all the different styles of cover displays I decided to take some inspiration from some of the plexiglass styles. I'm going to try and turn these unplayable LP's into my own 'Now Playing' record jacket display holder. I'm lucky to have two great titles to work from. I'll do some research and practice on other useless vinyls to perfect my technique and then do my final versions...

From recent work road trip in Bellingham, WA.......I've seen these "grab boxes" at other stores but usually more expensive and less records. This store had big UHaul boxes of records for sale, no clue what is in them. Clearly the grade of records is very low, but what got me is the store owner said he includes a bunch of records, 45s, CDs and cassettes.....So I bought one, figuring if I can get 3-4 VG+ albums I would be good. There are about 50 record albums, a few 45 singles, 1 mix CD of gansta rap krapp and about a dozen cassettes, just the cassettes I see about $30 value some good ones.
Have not gone thru all the records but as suspected not in good condition. There are a few like Alan Parsons Eye, a few Carly Simon, Al Stewart, Styx.....Most I think will be garbage or I'll give away, I'm keeping all the cassettes, heck I might have to go looking for a cassette deck. LOL

Oh and the box was only $10.......Thumbs Up

albums sourced from vinyl (as opposed to actual master tape) reissued on vinyl = vinylception
