Bio:
Largely formed out of the glorious geekdom that is Baltimore Maryland's fantasy and tabletop gaming scene, Bardic Compass is the brainchild of Lead Vocalist Carl Hengen and Sound Engineer Artem Bank. After first meeting in music production circles, and after co-creating/playing in a handful of roleplaying game circles together, the two decided to combine their creative forces towards a new progressive rock project. After all, if time-honored stories of heroism, discovery, and beauty could be so improved by the introduction of fantasy, why could the same not be true of music? Inspired mostly by the detailed and powerful stylings of progressive rock bands like Coheed and Cambria, Tool, and others, Artem and Carl set off to create a sound that is altogether imaginatively intricate but excitingly approachable, much like the games and comics that draw them together. With condensed direction and purpose, the group have since linked up with local psychedelic and progressive rock drummer David Wilson (ex: Greasy Hands, Spencer Joyce, Front Royal), and up-and-coming lead guitarist from Texas, Damian Silvas to bring their live show campaign to the East Coast rock circuits and beyond. Sounds like a pretty good candidate to me from the five songs that are available at the moment, but I expect the team will want to put any evaluation on hold until all ten songs can be heard after the album has been released on 3rd November.
The new suggestions guidance these days also requests a band photo to be provided along with the biography and links to listening samples. I found this one from a search on Google: However, if you have a different one that you'd like the team to use then please post it here.

^ No problem if you can't get the photo link to work in this thread - as long as the link is a valid one, just paste it here as plain text and the team will be able to get the image when it's needed.

^ Thanks. Direct Facebook image links like that tend to expire after a day or two (with an 'invalid timestamp' message or something similar displayed in your browser). The permanent link to that particular photo would be: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=555514849913877&set=pb.100063660998571.-2207520000&type=3.
^ That's a resized version of it which could be used if the direct link to the image doesn't work, and the member of the team who takes care of the addition doesn't happen to use facebook.

Well, it seems none of the evaluation teams has picked the suggestion up as yet, and listening to the complete album now on bandcamp I'm thinking that the music might be a bit on the heavy side for Crossover Prog, and several sites have tagged the album as Progressive Metal, though I'm not sure I'd go quite that far myself.
Anyhow, I do get the feeling that the most appropriate sub genre on PA for Bardic Compass isn't clear cut by any means - I guess it's a three-way choice between Prog Metal, Heavy Prog and Crossover Prog. For an evaluation to begin, a collaborator from one of those teams will need to listen to the album and make a decision regarding which is likely to be the best team to send the suggestion to in the first instance. Bardic Compass can be found on Awesomeprog here: https://awesomeprog.com/artists/21797.

Hi. I sent it to Crossover first.

Heavy prog is a better fit for this band.
I've already added them to the crossover chart, let's wait and see what the other team members think now.

^ I can't find this band anywhere in the PA charts on AwesomeProg - either in the 'Active Artists' list or the 'Completed Artists' one. It doesn't look to me as though there has been an evaluation initiated yet.
