Thank you, Mike!  This one will be different than my typical monthly shows. and even different than my projected prog folk shows, since it's all about one group, but hopefully listeners will enjoy.

Attention Fans of Musical Niches:  It’s that time again!  My "Nickie's Niches," segment on Chuck Simons’ “Top 10” show will be airing tomorrow morning, 02 May.  The show begins at 8:00AM PDT, on Progrock.com

It includes mini-reviews and a tune from each of my Bandcamp and other purchases from last month.  Focus is primarily on progressive and related genres, including chamber prog, ambient, psych/space, acid/wyrd/dark folk, and whatever else I find of interest.

There will a podcast available on progrock afterwards, if it’s at an inconvenient time for a live listen.  To join the chat, go to progrock.com and click on Chat link at top of page.

Following my segment will be a special presentation of Dennis Gaylor’s selections for “Roots of Prog Rock: Inspirations 1966-1967.”

Hi Nickie. Hope all is well. I enjoy and appreciate your show and have picked up some things over the past months from listening to it. I wanted to note that I did find Solstice's album on Bandcamp previously. I heard them on an Amazon playlist recommendation and searched for that album.

Hi There, George!

So glad you've been listening, enjoying, and also supporting acts that you've found from the show.  Smile

I did find that once I'd recorded and sent in the show to the main host that the Solstice release did get added to Bandcamp, but it was too late to alter the show's narration by then.  The record company didn't get it added until several weeks after the release on the label site, apparently.  I was able to let those in chat know they could get it on Bandcamp and that will be on my FB post that I'm going to put up today re Bandcamp Friday.

I have continued to follow the Interactive Polls and may indeed join in again should a theme strike me (as having something new to offer), and time allow.  Those polls were instrumental in my realization that a Progressive audience would enjoy adjacent material in other genres, which partially led to the fruition of the show segment itself.

Thank you so much for commenting, and for listening!

Attention Fans of Musical Niches:

From the Department of Prog Folk Notifications Department, this just in.

"Nickie's Niches," will be doing a Prog Folk Founders show as a guest offering on Chuck Simons’ “Top 10” show, tomorrow, 13 June, from 8:00 AM - 10 AM PT, on Progrock.com.

I selected the three 1969 Fairport Convention releases, featuring Sandy Denny for this show.  It lasts approximately an hour, and begins at the start of the hour.   Following my segment, Dennis Gaylor will conclude the final hour with his Time Machine #3 1967-1968 segment.

Just listened to the Fairport podcast. Splendid selection of tunes.
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Heart   Thank you so much!  A bit of a swerve from my usual show, but there will be more Prog Folk/Adjacent shows to come, most are various artists.  Glad you enjoyed it!

Hmmm...Prog Folk/Adjacent shows? How about Jethro Tull's evolution from blues/jazz/folk/rock on their debut up to their Brit-folk Trilogy in the late 70s? All acoustic, starting with "Some Day the Sun Won't Shine for You" to "Dun Ringill."

I definitely have a Jethro Tull feature in the works, they are among my favourite prog bands, and I saw them live many, many times.

kudos to you, madam !
Fairport deserves all the love (as does the wonderful Sandy by herself)
BTW Annette Peacock is another original talented lady ( also on our dB) which maybe could get a place on your future setlist

I am not that familiar with Annette Peacock, I know I've heard something or other, but will check into her further.

There actually is a full Sandy Denny solo program that is completed, but will probably put out a multi-artist one next.
