"If music be the food of love, then play on." - Duke Orsino in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, which later provided the inspiration for a Fleetwood Mac album. Separating Fact and Fiction now, it's a fact that Twelfth Night were one of the first Neo Prog bands with their first Live album recorded back in February 1981, which must have been A Night to Remember. They also released two studio albums in 1982 which preceded Marillion's first album by a whole year. Twelfth Night are masters of Art & Illusion with their masterpiece Sequences album destined to become a treasured Collectors Item. Smile

I think this tribute deserves its place on your list.
Tomorrow, 30 years ago, Geoff Mann was taken from life by a painful disease.
RIP

If Geoff Mann isn't on it, it can't be 5 stars. Wink The one exception is the all-instrumental Live at the Target.

Smiling at GriefFact and Fiction and Live and Let Live — all get 5 stars in my book, but I'm a Mann-fan. Big smile

Art & Illusion – 3 stars (rounded up from 2.5).
XII – 1 star. Forgettable.

I only have the remastered edition of Live At The Target. I don't like the singer on this project (and also with Casino).

The authorised biography of Geoff Mann photo The Authorised Biography of Geoff Mann written by Andrew Wild. Limited-Edition Hardback Book.   To commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the passing of our dear friend, Geoff Mann, this February, his official biography will be published later this year by SonicBond. Often irreverent, never compromising, Geoff Mann was many things: artist, musician, poet, playwright, vicar, husband, father, friend. Geoff packed more into his thirty-six years than most do in three-score and ten, releasing fifteen albums, performing hundreds of concerts, exhibiting his art at ten galleries, caring for his family and church members. This official biography - written with the full support and blessing of the Mann family - takes a fresh and detailed look at Geoff's life, from his childhood in Manchester through student years in Reading, his three years as a professional artist, the two tumultuous years with Twelfth Night, his solo work, The Bond, Eh! Geoff Mann Band and collaborations with Marc Catley and Clive Nolan.   His Love will be a limited-edition 160-page hardback book with sixteen pages of photographs, mostly unseen outside friends' scrapbooks and family photograph albums. In addition everyone who places a pre-order will also receive a new 'Best of Geoff' CD, which will include our favourite tracks from his post-Twelfth Night albums, a couple of TN rarities, and some recently discovered solo demos which have never been heard publicly before. This is a very special book, which we feel sure will appeal not just to all Twelfth Night fans, but also more widely as it charts the life of a truly remarkable man.

GEOFF MANN    A belated tribute to Geoff Mann (1956-1993), whose life and death reads like a Shakespearean tragedy. As well as being the Mann behind Twelfth Night, he somehow found the time to record ten religiously-inspired solo albums too (four of them released posthumously) during his tragically brief lifetime. Broken Heart

CASINO     Everyone's a winner! Geoff Mann (of Twelfth Night) & Clive Nolan (a man of many bands) are upping the ante and scooping the jackpot with this superb one-album project. You can bet your bottom dollar that any Neo Prog band Clive Nolan is involved with will be a surefire winner, and Casino are no exception. Thankfully, Clive Nolan's two bands - Arena and Pendragon - haven't taken the same path as Genesis. If you asked Clive Nolan to do a Pop album, that would be a bit like asking Van Gogh to churn out a few sunflower pictures for Athena. Tongue
