Nice they're coming to San Diego. I'll certainly try to attend.

I am glad to see them playing Arcata California, even though I don't live there anymore. And Seattle, of course.

Hi,
Depending on price I might try to catch them here in Portland, though my preference would be to hear this bunch WITHOUT a drummer, so the music is more free form and flowing instead of mechanical! I'm not a fan at all of some of these more experimental things ... and tieing them down takes the thrill away for me. I thought, originally, that Gavin was in the picture. So sorry if I am incorrect. While a fine drummer, he is not the best at exploratory and experimental music. Too mechanical and mathematical for it.

No, no. I am pretty sure you are not the one who comes off as confused here. |

Hi, The picture/poster has someone with two sticks. I had to look up the tour itinerary to find out who it was ... looks like Pat Mastelotto. I suppose that makes it more interesting for me, with Marcus Reuter, but in general, there is not a whole lot of stuff that the Stick Men have done that was appealing to my ears. I much preferred the free form stuff that Marcus Reuter did with Thorsten Quaeschning in a 40 minute piece that was far out and a reminder of the old days in electronics and the beauty of simply playing out in the open. Pat's album with his wife is nice, btw, and I would pay to see that show. Edited by moshkito - May 17 2023 at 18:44 |

Couldn't agree more. Complaining about a band's drummer who isn't even in the band is pretty remarkable.
