I can suggest you this great interview with Haken about the new album and not only from Progressive Rock Journal webzine, made on February 02, 2023.

Hi,

Wait a minute ... if they had another album it probably be a variation on "Our Song" from the Waters/Geesin album ... complete with all the sound effects and insults of course, instead of Syd's voice screaming for that last basket! Tongue
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Informative interview.  First Haken album I've ever preordered.  I'm excited about this one.

My favourite post metal band (and one of my very very few autobuy bands) Kong from Amsterdam have a new album on pre-order, probably fully out in a few days. Their first one with 100% new material since 2014. I'm quite happy with the two tracks already there.

I haven't read any news about that. There aren't even any rumours about that. But one can only hope for a new release from Symphony X.

I believe that I read an interview in Prog re: Michael Romeo's War of the Worlds Part II where he mentioned they were back in the studio.  At any rate, it searching for that article, I found this one.  https://metalinjection.net/upcoming-releases/symphony-x-aiming-to-release-long-awaited-new-album-in-2023

Actually, they have been working on the new album for quite some time. It has been announced via their official Facebook pages/groups. They have a tour or tours before. I'd say that a late 2023 album of theirs wouldn't be a surprise.

The albums I've heard so far that have been released this year

Haken - Fauna
Riverside - ID.Entity
Katatonia - Sky Fall Of Stars
Cosmograf - Heroic Materials
Damanek - Making Shore
Sunchild - Exotic Creatures
Isobar - Isobar III
The Prog Collective - Seeking Peace
Uriah Heep - Chaos and Colour
RPWL - Crime Scene
Zopp - Dominion
We Came From Space - Overlords
eMolecule - The Arctitect
Lazuli - LAZULI 11
Djabe - Before

that's already 15 excellent albums released that I've heard so far. Zopp and Isobar are probably my favourites but most everything is worth 4 stars in my book at least.

New Redemption album is fine, it's got two covers - Genesis - Turn It on Again and Peter Gabriel - Red Rain. TBH I thought they'd suck but they are good. Tongue

I've been too scared to listen to Haken's latest as I'm worried it'll be another mediocre one to my ears.
