![]() The sopranos are back! Not to worry though, as these aren't gun-toting gangsters, but the return of the six lovely sopranos from the Dante's Divine Comedy trilogy. Paradiso is the third part in this magnificent trilogy of albums, following on from Inferno (2002) and Purgatorio (2004). Paradiso marks Tangerine Dream's 32nd studio album and their 93rd album overall and features Edgar Froese, Thorsten Quaeschning, Linda Spa and Iris Camaa. As with the two previous albums in the trilogy, Paradiso is a truly beautiful musical experience which was many months in the making, which really shows through in the outstanding production values of this superb album. ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 17 2022 at 10:34 |

![]() Dawn comes around every 24 hours, but in the case of Blue Dawn, it's taken 18 long years for it to finally appear on the horizon. This is Tangerine Dream's 31st studio album and their 92nd album overall. Blue Dawn was composed and recorded back in 1988 during Tangerine Dream's North American tour, but for various unknown reasons, the album was never released at the time. The album features the short-lived duo of Edgar Froese and (blink and you'll miss him) Ralf Wadephul, whose membership of Tangerine Dream was as ephemeral as a proverbial blue dawn. ![]() |

![]() The tragic Phaedra of Greek mythology has risen from the ashes! Phaedra 2005 is a re-recording of the classic album from 1974, marking Tangerine Dream's 30th studio album and their 91st album overall. The bonus track "Delfi" was composed in 2005 but recorded in the spirit of the seventies, and dare I say, this contemporary re-recording is even better than the original Phaedra album (invites mockery). ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 15 2022 at 14:17 |

^ Thanks! I'm enjoying the music too. All of Tangerine Dream's albums beyond the 1980's are virtually unexplored territory for me, just like the surface of Mars, and the number of albums is truly eye-popping!
![]() As I Recall, There's also a Totally large number of live bootleg fan recordings too, under the umbrella titles of Tangerine Tree, Branches and Leaves, but I'm not even going to go there, as Tangerine Dream's humungous discography is complicated enough already as it is.

![]() Is there Life on Mars? No, but there's an abundance of life on Rocking Mars: Tangerine Dream's 23rd Live album and their 90th album overall. This album Rocks! It's the fifth and final album in The Vault Series, recorded Live in 1999 by Edgar & Jerome Froese with two guest musicians on guitar and percussion. If you're blessed with Total Recall, then you may recall that some of the music from Rocking Mars was used on the Mars Polaris studio album in 1999. Hasta la vista, baby, until the next time. ![]() ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 13 2022 at 03:55 |

![]() The future is bright - the future is Tangerine! Jeanne D'Arc is Tangerine Dream's 29th studio album and their 89th album overall. As you may have guessed from the album title, this is a tribute to Joan of Arc - the French 15th century heroine of The Hundred Years War and the original feminist of the women's liberation movement, long before Germaine Greer came along and told women to burn their bras five centuries later. ![]() This album is where the stars come into perfect alignment for Tangerine Dream, as not only does it feature the welcome return of Linda Spa on saxophone (her first appearance on a Tangerine Dream studio album since the Goblins' Club album in 1996), but it's also the first album to include keyboard player Thorsten Quaeschning as a full-time member of the band. Sadly though, this would be the last appearance of Jerome Froese in the TD line-up, having been with the band since the Melrose album in 1990. Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 12 2022 at 12:21 |

![]() Ohayo Gozaimasu! Kyoto is Tangerine Dream's 28th studio album and their 88th album overall. Kyoto features compositions by Edgar Froese & Johannes Schmoelling intended for their 1983 tour of Japan, but which never saw the light of day, until now that is. Sayonara - until the next time. ![]() |

ISoH has the edge because it has a lot more previously unreleased music, with the crown jewel being the long-desired Oedipus Tyrannus. Then a full CD of Phaedra outtakes and five full discs devoted to three concerts in London circa '74-75. Anyone who was "on the fence" about plunking down is surely kicking themselves now!
PoPT is a great box for me (the line-up with Schmoelling is my favorite), but apart from The Soldier it's not exactly a lot of new music. It's nice to have The Keep but the music had already been released in a limited edition (W.B. said it was new and newly remastered from the original source, which is nonsense). What they should have done is presented the complete Risky Business score. That'd be something! Of course, the remastering and the book are worth the price of admission, regardless.

Terrific. Same. ![]() I have to say the ‘In Search of Hades” 18 disc set is the better of the two. It may very be my most loved and treasured boxset in my entire collection and I’ve got some good ones dammit. Lol. Anyhow. How did you enjoy the 5.1 mixes of Ricochet and Phaedra ? Steven Wilson once again did a great job. |

![]() "Brighton 1986" is the seventh album in The Bootmoon Series and also the fourth album in The Vault Series (alongside "Cleveland '86"). This is Tangerine Dream's 22nd Live album and their 87th album overall, and as we've come to expect from The Vault Series, the sound quality is just as good as a studio recording. ![]() ![]() Brighton Pavillion

![]() "Cleveland 1986" is the sixth album in The Bootmoon Series and also the fourth album in The Vault Series. Confusing? Yes, but numbering the albums is about to get even more complicated as we delve ever deeper into Tangerine Dream's HUGE discography. "Cleveland 1986" is Tangerine Dream's 21st Live album and their 86th album overall. It's another double album with a high standard of recording quality, as with all of the superb Live albums in The Vault Series. ![]() ![]() Cleveland, Ohio Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 10 2022 at 10:16 |

![]() Arizona Live is the third album in The Vault Series, the 20th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 85th album overall. The concert was recorded at the Scottsdale Mall Amphitheatre (near Phoenix) and features the 4-piece line-up of Edgar and Jerome Froese, Linda Spa on sax and Zlatko Perica on guitar. This is one of Tangerine Dream's best Live performances and definitely not to be missed, featuring some simply sublime sax solos from lovely Lady Linda. I'd tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon just to hear the sound of Linda Spa's sax. ![]() ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 09 2022 at 14:58 |

![]() It's all aboard the Marakesh express for "East - Berlin 1990": the second album in The Vault Series (following on from Rockface), the 19th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 84th album overall. Sadly, the video below is the only video currently available on YouTube from the East album, but it's a very high quality recording for a Live album. This 1990 concert marked the first appearance of Jerome Froese in a live show as well as being the first concert by a West German band performing in former East Berlin, following the fall of the Berlin Wall the previous year. It's just a pity we don't get to see lovely Linda Spa dressed as an East German border guard again. ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - October 09 2022 at 14:59 |

![]() It's time to wrap up warm for "Ottawa 1986": the fifth album in The Bootmoon Series, the 18th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 83rd album overall. The video below is the only YouTube video currently available from this concert in The Great White North of Canada, so there's not much to warm your heart here. Brrrr! ![]() |
