Never read any comments about this band. So, what do you think? They have a groove that reminds me of National Health. Uplifting music, stellar lyrics, and Amy Darby's vocals are captivating.

Genius Loci is an absolutely superb album but that's the only one I really know. Modern prog that is 'transcendental' almost, perhaps a cut above the similar Iamthemorning who I also like. Read somewhere they originated from my home town Swindon so quite a contrast to the concrete jungle!

Outstanding band. I came to know them with their wonderful 2013 album One for Sorrow, One for Joy, which I bought at ProgDay and reviewed for DPRP. They also played ProgDay in 2002, well before I moved to the US. I wish I had been able to see them on stage!

Your review is excellent. I agree that TK's "old-school" music is full of heart and style.

I only have the Argot and Genius Loci albums, but have enjoyed them both.

Big fan! One of the first bands I came to know via joining ProgArchives back in 2008. The Water Road. In my opinion, every album has seen the band get progressively better--all of their albums from then through Genius Loci have a place in my AOTY top forties: 2008, 2013, 2013, 2019. I've learned to like them even more as I've grown to know and appreciate them as "Änglagård II" with three of the Swedish band's members making major contributions to each album--though no disrespect to Amy and Phil as they are definitely the heart and soul of the band. "Germander Speedwell", "Railway Song", and "Mirie It Is" remain among my all-time favorite prog songs. Amy's voice and singing style are unique and mesmerizing--a rare treat in music--kind of like Elaine di Falco (Thinking Plague/Yugen) or Amanda Rankin of Axon-Neuron.

I've listened to them recently and depending on the day I either really dig it or I find it kind of boring. It hasn't quite sunk in yet.

Very good band. I enjoy the verities of influences in their music. When I first searched on line for them I kept getting ads for this product!

You're from Swindon! Hometown of Andy Partridge and Richard Wileman? I used to live in Atworth--between Box and Melksham. Wonderful days!

That's cool! Swindon has some decent prog credentials when you add in Justin Hayward, Rick Davies and the incredibly talented Dave Gregory , also a member of XTC in the early days as well as being a key member Big Big Train for a decade and the short lived band Tin Spirits (their 2014 release Scorch is one of the best albums of the last 10 years imo).

Do you have to be a fan to rate an album higher than 3 stars?
