Lucifer's Friend?
Heavy prog/hard rock band.

That "Krautrock artists still to come" list, 6 artists there I would not put them in the Krautrock category. Stern Smile

Again, you should listen for yourself and decide if you will feature those artist or not, is your source right, are there other opinions, classifications for those artists?

I had not been very aware of this thread until now, and thought I'd say of some groups I know like the back of my hand.... Triumvirat are definitely Symphonic Prog and not Krautrock, despite the fact that they hail from Cologne, Passport are definitely JRF, and not Krautrock, and the also mentioned Wallenstein are really Symphonic Prog and not Krautrock, I feel.

Don't forget, most of the artists on  these A-Z lists of Krautrock weren't chosen by me - they were chosen collectively by the good members of ProgArchives. Thumbs Up

A few maybe, but I find hard to believe someone suggested Triumvirat for Krautrock, it's ridiculous, Same for Novalis or Passport.

Also Zomby Woof is not Krautrock either.

Klaus Schultze is progressive electronic.

^ I can't remember who suggested Triumvirat as a replacement for Tangerine Dream, but either way, it's an excellent choice. If I followed your advice by only including bands who are officially listed as Krautrock on PA, then I'd have to delete half the artists on the A-Z lists. Ouch

Again, not true. You are exaggerating.

Triumvirat is a great choice as an example of symphonic prog, but definitely not Krautrock. Whoever suggested Triumvirat (I must have missed that) is simply wrong.

You also said Kraan  shouldn't have been included here, even though Kraan are one of the primary bands in the Krautrock movement. Confused

Again, big difference between Kraan and Triumvirat, apples and oranges. I still don't agree with Kraan being labelled as Krautrock, but Triumvirat has no Krautrock elements at all.
If only you went and listened to a couple of Triumvirat songs, we wouldn't even have this conversation.

If I may
An easy fix to this is merely amending the thread title so as it reflects the intentions of the OP. A to Z of classic German prog
This way Paul can keep focusing on the music that generally speaks to him (symph and the more classic sounding prog) and disregard the more weird stuff that most of us here think of when hearing the moniker ‘Krautrock’.

It's ridiculous, I suggested the same idea a few days ago and you ignored me completely. Kinda disrespectful to be honest.

Again, it's ridiculous what you did here. If you don't see it, then i don't know what to say.

Changing the title to German prog takes a whole new perspective. And our own back and forth pointless.

Exactly! Changing the thread title to "Classic German Prog" makes perfect sense, so you have no reason to argue with me anymore. One of These Days, you might just agree with me for a change, although I won't hold my breath. Big smile

So why didn't you change the title when I suggested it and ignored me instead. You clearly don't see it, do you? I'm amazed how you don't get it. Ouch

You do not understand my point or are you trolling again? The irrelevant videos point to that.

To be honest, I can't stand that "irrelevant" EMF song. I'd sooner listen to Opeth. Wacko
