I think 'Get Back' has given us a greater appreciation of Let it Be

I'd have to include compilations to reach 7 albums that I unhesitatingly like. Revolver Rubber Soul Abbey Road Magical Mystery Tour (although the 11 track LP version is tantamount to a compilation?) |

Each album has a few songs that has always rubbed me the wrong way, but Abbey Road has got my all time favorite medley on it, and the other two songs on side 2 aren't too shabby either. Love every second of the second side. On top of that its got I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Something. Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band is the Beatles album of my childhood years, as it was the only original Beatles LP my parents owned (plus a compilation). Magical Mystery Tour was the first one I bought for my own money because I had heard Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane... 1. Abbey Road 2. Magical Mystery Tour*3. Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band 4. Revolver 5. Rubber Soul 6. White Album 7. Let It Be *originally a double EP in the UK I know, but never in the US and not how I was introduced to it decades later. |

The album with the singles on the "B" side was originally an Australia only release on the "Music for Pleasure" label, but it proved so popular as an import that it was eventually released world wide and even eventually became part of the official canon. At the time those singles weren't released on albums because The Beatles wanted to give their fans value for money and not put singles on albums. This of course led to one of George Martins biggest regrets, not putting "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" on "Sgt. Peppers...", which in turn led to the speculation game about where they would have slotted in and which songs they would have replaced.

I always felt that Abbey Road was their only album that sounded like a classic rock recording of the 1970s. Much like Chaplin's movies before The City Lights did not look like modern ones to me, and it was Modern Times where everything looked like modern era, especially speaking of the women's looks.
