I don't get it. Are you implying that Blue Oyster Cult are a novelty act in a similar way to the New Vaudeville Band? Tongue

I have the first four albums only. One of my favorite tracks is Dominance and Submission which many years ago I've been playing with a cover band.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

1. Then Came the Last Days of May (Blue Oyster Cult)
2. Wings Wetted Down (Tyranny and Mutation)
3. Astronomy (Secret Treaties)
4. The Revenge of Vera Gemini (Agents of Fortune)
5. Nosferatu (Spectres)
6. The Vigil (Mirrors)
7. Black Blade (Cultosaurus Erectus)
8. Veteran of the Psychic Wars (Fire of Unknown Origin)
9. Shadow Of California (Revolution by Night)
10. Perfect Water (Club Ninja)
11. In the Presence of Another World (Imaginos)

I could have chosen plenty other songs in favour of most, if not all of these. And of course I should have included Don't Fear the Reaper. But as for now I feel like choosing The Revenge of Vera Gemini. Well, it's just a silly little (fun) game anyway.

BLUE OYSTER CULT began life in New York in 1967 with a mixture of TYRANNY AND MUTATION. Having signed the SECRET TREATIES with the Columbia record label, the band became AGENTS OF FORTUNE with the success of their fourth album, which included the all-time classic "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". Blue Öyster Cult were able to put the SPECTRES of years of struggle behind them, with gleaming polished MIRRORS reflecting a bright future ahead.  There was now no danger of Blue Öyster Cult becoming extinct like the CULTOSAURUS ERECTUS dinosaur. The band were lit up and burning with success in a FIRE OF UNKOWN ORIGIN and ready to take the world by storm with a  REVOLUTION BY NIGHT down at the CLUB NINJA. IMAGINOS was a modern CULT CLASSIC album and a real return to form, but HEAVEN FORBID that Blue Öyster Cult should end their long career with the CURSE OF THE HIDDEN MIRROR. Never fear though, because the release of their most recent album in 2020 guarantees that the Blue Oyster Cult SYMBOL REMAINS forever! Smile

It's been awhile since we've had a Create Your Own Album thread, and this time it's the turn of Blue Öyster Cult.  The usual rules apply:-  Simply choose one favourite song from each of the eleven classic albums listed below to create your own personalised compilation album of eleven favourite Blue Öyster Cult songs, and remember, it's one song per album. Smile

  • Blue Öyster Cult (1972)
  • Tyranny and Mutation (1973)

  • Mirrors (1979)
