What a fine selection, John! Clap
I like all of them, but for me BMS's first will always be on top.

Mine is the only vote (so far?) for Nuova Era's Il Passo del Soldato...!?

People, that album cooks with fire. 'Specially if you like keyboards.

Thankyou!Clap
I always feel like the lone voice for this monster. The organ is so nasty and dirty it should be outlawed. Powerful vocals too.

Not a bad album in this group. Banco is my favorite RPI band, but the self-titled isn't my favorite of their releases. Area is smokin', but I would take Caution: RA or Crac! before AMFContrapunti is a waaaay underappreciated Le Orme album.

I will pick Alphataurus since when someone mentions RPI the first sound that I hear in my head is that Moog glissando leading into the acoustic guitar on the opening track.

Thanks bro! The big three truly are that in the RPI realm.

I'll always remember asking this older Italian man what the lyrics were on one of the tracks and he takes a while looking at it before saying it's about a big storm, a big storm is coming. That was so cool. Oh I used to have a shop and always had my music on to some's displeasure and to others being curious.

Hate to go with the majority but Arbeit Macht Frei is just that good. I did give a strong few seconds of thought to Banco's debut though. They really had an edge on that album.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Tricky - Tilt and Arbeit Macht Frei are equally fantastic and incomparable. It's between those two but I love Banco's debut and Contrappunti too.

You said it, bruh. Way better than Banco and Area, IMO...

Where’s the best 2 Italian albums Apoteosi and Maxiphone
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Nah. Their first 2 albums not quite there. Io sono and Di terra are great though

I have heard it before, but don’t have Nuova Era in my collection. The others I do and have played many times over the years. I’d say that my favourite band in the list is Area, but like Tapfret, I prefer CRA and Crac! to it. Unlike him, that BdSM album is my favourite from that band. A strong list. I should check out NE again. I voted for Alphatuarus.

They’re the best I’ve heard from all those Italian albums. Apoteosi is excellent

The Area debut is a bit boring. First track is cool though
