Paul, to complete the second A-Z, for R you could try Royal Servants and for Y, Yatha Sidhra. U is surprisingly hard. You could try Unlimited Systems, its a bit new wavish but does feel a little Sauerkrautisch... lol

Thanks! Yatha Sidhra are already included in the first A-Z list, but I've just checked out Royal Servants on YouTube (after scrolling through all the videos of the Queen's servants) and they sound a right royal treat, so I'll add them to the list.

To save me doing a U-turn by deleting "U" from the A-Z list I've added the ultra-modern Krautrock band "The Utopia Strong" from England, which now completes the second list.

Wow! What an incredible list - 16 pages of classic Krautrock albums, which just goes to show that the two A-Z lists assembled here have barely scratched the surface of the Rock.

Lucifers Friend was not on his list...so maybe it's technically not considered 'krautrock'......?
Still...it's one of my favorites especially the first 2 lp's. Jane has a very similar sound to Lucifers Friend at times but it is on the list. Both are heavy prog here at PA.

Lucifer's Friend were the first German band that came to mind when I was looking to fill the Krautrock "L-slot", but you're right, they're not technically a Krautrock band, so I bent the "rules" a little. On the other hand, I just added "The Utopia Strong" to the second A-Z list, who are listed as a Krautrock band, even though they're from England.

Jane had hints of Krautrock in the beginning. Lucifer's Friend never did. In fact, LF officially was the first band to be called heavy metal.

I made a comprehensive list to cover ALL the bands that were considered Krautrock in the 60s and 70s. I was careful to only include the "kosmische" bands that either fully or marginally embraced psychedelic elements. That's why i didn't include hard rock bands like Lucifer's Friend, pure jazz-fusion bands like Zyma or non-rock electronica like Klaus Schulze.

It was interesting to see you only included the first two Tangerine Dream albums in your Krautrock list.

Those really are Krautrock before they changed into progressive electronic. Made the list easier for sure since they have over 100 albums!

I'm a completionist, so I would've been tempted to list ALL of Tangerine Dream's albums, even though they're not Krautrock.

At the Dawning of a new day, it's Time to Turn to the Visionary albums of Eloy now as we experience the Power and the Passion of their musical Performances. Eloy's spacey psychedelic albums can be compared to bright Rays of Sunshine, or like ships Floating gently in the Topographic Oceans of Prog. I'm looking forward to delving Inside Eloy's long and glorious discography for the first time, where I've heard each album is as unique and varied as the Colours of the Planets in the Solar System. And so, it's Destination outward bound now, where horizons seem to beckon me, and where The Answer to my proggy prayers lies within.
