Even many people who like Art Zoyd generally and might consider themselves to be fans will not have heard that album. It's the lowest and least rated of all Art Zoyd 70s and 80s albums, but is a personal favourite of mine. I love the track "Migrations". Four of my traditional favourite albums from 1983 that are included in Prog categories have been Art Zoyd's Les espaces inquiets, Codona's Codona 3, News From Babel's Sirens and Silences / Work Resumed on the Tower and Eskaton's Fiction. My tastes do tend to run towards the unusual. If I set my old iPod to random song shuffle, there's a good chance that I will hit an Art Zoyd -- that, Ennio Morricone, Magma and things Robert Wyatt feature heavily on it. On my new phone it's mostly Cardiacs (good driving music I find), so I could hardly complain or feel left out when it comes to this poll. One of the beauties about such themed polls (in this case a year poll) is that most everyone's list will be quite different, unless of course it's based on a shared list and the like. I appreciate seeing different things in different people's lists. Edited by Logan - May 01 2021 at 11:23 |

The Hurting. I would've gladly voted for ELO's Secret Messages.

I am not at all shocker at this point seeing IQ taking the lead... once again, and marching forward towards a sixth win (which would make them the band with the most wins in the series )!

interesting, to me it is underwhelming compared to earlier albums. Not a good album for me.

This was my take too: when I first heard the album I thought that the first four were way above. But over time, Heads or Tales actually grew into one of my favourite Saga albums too. Such a shame though that the mix is so terribly bad (if someone knows a good mix of this one, please let me know - both my LP and CD suffer from too much highs...).

Some might suggest you aided and abetted this by not including Marillion (who I’m guessing might have been their main competition). And given how you loaded the “random” Coltrane poll, I wouldn’t put it past you! 😜 It’s been a great series of polls, though, and I looked forward to the second series, which I imagine is coming very soon! |

As for the second stage of RAC, it is indeed coming very soon - this Saturday. And since you asked, I guess I can reveal what it will look like. There will be six polls for each decade that has been involved (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s + 2020) and we will have the winner of each year in the respective polls. Again, a week's time should be enough to have some interesting and satisfactory outcomes. [I guess I will do two decades/polls a week] And after three more weeks, obviously the third and final stage of RAC will come - the six albums left will compete for the title!
