Final RAC week - poll 2/3 - 1983. You know the drill. It's Sabbath for me. |

90125. I didn't realize that 1983 was carrier of so many good albums. I'm "One Of The Few" who loves The Final Cut, and Crisis is one of my favorite Oldfield albums. There's Hyperborea, Cardiacs...I thought it was worse.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

A Yes vote for 90125 as it's the first Yes studio album I bought on vinyl in 1983, mainly on the strength of the single and I really was an Owner of a Lonely Heart at the time.

One of the few polls I won’t vote for Bowie. I do like this album, but it’s far from being one of his greatest (even if it’s easily one of his most commercially successful).
I went for Cardiacs. 🤗🥰 |

I figured this was exactly why you didn’t include them, and agree wholeheartedly. Including them would have rendered the poll almost a waste of time! 😄 |

I, like Nick, also go with Cardiacs over the Bowie (and over Tangerine Dream). I really like the B side of Let's Dance, but I wouldn't consider it to be one of the great Bowie albums (from an artistic, non-commercial standpoint) and I would be reluctant to include it in a Prog section poll even though it has some progginess about it.
I understand why Marillion wasn't included, and think the reasoning sound, and would like to think that that is also the reason why Art Zoyd's Les espaces inquiets was not included, but then I am quite confident that I'd be deluding myself. |

Maybe he calls these polls "random" for a reason?
