For me, The Hobbit was OK but Prometheus was awe-inspiring.

Neither. Prometheus took sci-fi and horror to a place the genres should never go: boredom. And The Hobbit was a stellar example of painfully stretching a short, straightforward tale into a painfully overlong trilogy simply to milk a franchise. In fact, I wrote a review at the time of the film's release entitled...

The Hobbit trilogy was too long, veered totally from the charming book, had dodgy CGI and I never warmed to Freemans Bilbo. However even with its faults it's better than Prometheus.
