You sound like you're Close to the Edge of giving up on the album entirely. Smile

I've already given up on it.

Time and a Word indicated to me that you weren't going to like Fly from Here upon listening to it again, but you could try Going for the One Yes album coming up next. Smile

Having just listened to Trevor Horn's original 1980 version of "We Can Fly from Here", I much prefer Benoit David's  2011 version. Thumbs Up

If I were to rate the album on here I would give it 3.5. I think I would struggle to give it four stars. There are some really nice moments on it though.

Keys to Ascension (1996) is a live album
You should try and listen to Keystudio.

The easiest album to find a place for in my Yes album intros is always the first self-titled album and the hardest has always been Tales from Topographic Oceans. Smile

About the Return Trip comments, I might add, even if I'm among the ones that refuse to give it much of a chance, wonderint what's the point... well, actually the point is that it was Trevor Horn's music, and he wanted to do that for himself... I still wonder why they didn't do so in the first place, I remember reading something about Benoit himself saying to Trevor that he should be doing it while they were recording the album, and Trevor thought it was not such a great idea and though Benoit's singing was beautiful. I guess he must have changed his mind somewhat later on. And even though I myself think Benoit should have felt insulted for this, I believe I read someone saying that he actually gave his blessing... so I might forgive that album's existence... still, I don't have the urge to buy it again, since I have the original version and find it perfectly enjoyable that way.

Well, Keys to Ascension is half live, and half studio, and there's two parts of it. I do wish it was one double live album and one studio one, but it's just not so. Still, I do think it's better to get the Keys to Ascension versions, since I find that some of the best moments are the live tracks... Starship Trooper and Awaken are my definite favourite versions of those songs.
