I would be surprised if any of this helps his popularity other than with some older people. Today's right wing crowd, middle-aged and younger, is not really into the police or the military. Police and military are part of the dreaded 'new world order'.

^ Perhaps, but don't underestimate the instinctive reaction against uncontrolled rioting & crime, it can impact even the most liberal, conservative and libertarian people.

Yes, but today's redneck right winger is almost more anti-authority than many constructive liberals. The different perspectives between you and I might have to do with the different locales in which we live. The right wing anti-authority attitude is strong out here in the southern burbs. Racism is a factor though, there is less tolerance depending on race. If it was a redneck pro gun hugger protest or an anti shutdown protest, the police would seem like demons. EDIT: Reconsidering your post: when you factor in racism, exaggerated fears about antifa, and the fact that professional criminals are taking advantage of the situation, maybe this has a chance of working for him somewhat, Still, images of police and military in riot gear are not real popular with the anti new world order crowd. I don't have a TV, so I may be out of the loop on how the general public sees this. I get most of my perspective from talking/arguing with people on the internet on various sites.

I think what is not to be underestimated is the overall shock and awe .. and collective PTSD this country has endured not for the last 4 months.. but the last 3 1/2 f**king years.
my take.. and I'll be Raff's ranches on it...people are simple numb... this is just one of MANY things that have happened over the last few years
and reactions.. what kind of reactions does one really expect to see. You have 35-40% of the country that thinks this clown is some of cult leader who can do no wrong.... and sure enough.. he's Jonetowning not just them.. but their whole f**king party... and you also have about 50-55% that wouldn't piss on the Toddler on Chief if he was on fire.
so what does that leave.. about roughly 10% of us that.. aren't simply undecided.. they are brain dead and haven't paid attention to much of anything that last 3 plus years. Doubt this is going to make any more indentation onto their thick skulls.

No, she isn't being handcuffed. That's a bracelet. She is holding her keys or something. This image is more clear than the other one.

ohh.. and few things get me hotter than .. well... suffice to say I do love a good non partisan poltical site. Some of the best writings I've seen have come from them. Discovered another this week.. oh it is isn't new. A lot of us discovered it back in 2016 and yeah its maps customizing them is really cool... but while checking it out this week to see if they had flipped any of the consensus on races I found this. It looks like they have some interesting original content other than just telling us which way the wind of blowing.. as if we really need that haha.
Part of a series leading up to election day of the battleground states. .starting from those with the smallest chances to be competitive to the the true 50-50 coin flip states..
this week.. was Virginia.. a very informative read. Looking forward to this level of analysis from the other states.
very interesting in that Virginia was years ahead the trend that is reshaping politics.. again.. it wasn't Trump.. this began well before him

^ Ok, apparently she was being arrested and handcuffed but my point is you don't see handcuffs on her at that point. That probably happened soon after the picture was taken. I commend her on her bravery and willingness to engage in civil disobedience though.

Interesting photo. From an ethical and moral standpoint, you have Trump pawing his daughter's butt, and you have your daughter and wife in a picture with Playboy bunnies. Oh, and by the way, The bunny to the far right is Karen McDougal. She had a 10 month affair with Trump, and the photograph was taken during Trump's affair, right after the birth of Trump's son. McDougal's silence was eventually paid off with $150,000. That pay-off and another $130,000 in hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels were what got Trump attorney Michael Cohen convicted of breaking campaign finance laws. How any Christian could support this soulless and vile creature in the White House is beyond me.

No, that's only because she's standing the same way you usually see people who are levitating. You can see her feet are firmly on the ground.

Slightly OT, how on earth did antifa become a term of abuse? In Germany and Italy we had enough of fa in the past (and some in the present, if as a minority) that I'm happy about as much antifa as we can get. And the Americans were not that keen on our fa either.

Generally, we're not. Despite it's being highlighted by the press, antifa is still a small a fringe group.

The activities of antifa are greatly exaggerated. A couple months ago our nextdoor site was flooded with facebook posts about how our suburban area was going to be attacked by busloads of traveling antifa, hilarious and ridiculous as they are no where near that big or organized. There does seem to be some sort of organized effort to discredit and demonize them. Some antifa members did not help their cause when they bopped some old people for wearing maga hats, but that behavior was criticized within their group and has mostly stopped happening.
My dad was antifa in a sense, he fought the nazis in WWII.
