The instrument in the beginning of Limbus 4 sounds like a Kazoo to me.

Among my least favorite albums by any band are Yes’s Keys to Ascension and Heaven and Earth. It’s honestly hard to choose which is worse!

Keys to Ascension really? Are you sure you aren't getting that mixed up with Open Your Eyes which came out soon after it? Keep in mind Keys to Ascension is the one that marked a return to the traditional prog sound of Yes of the 70's. There were two of them. Both featured live tracks plus new material. If you really do mean KtA then this is the first time I ever heard anyone say it was bad.

probably "Mandalas" by Limbus 4. the woodwinds on this album are horrible. when I heard the album for the first time I almost fell off my chair laughing when the flute came in for the first time:

I pretend Metallica disbanded after the '80s.

I will admit that I do enjoy some of the songs from Load and Reload, but I never listen to them as complete albums because there's so much filler that's just not fun to listen to.

But yes - - I’ll be careful!

I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

The third album, Set the World on Fire (with Mike Mangini on drums) is very good. For whatever reason, Annihilator changed to much after the third album. The writing's never been up to the standard of those. The album Criteria for a Black Widow has the line-up from the first album, minus the bass player, and isn't bad.

Excellent topic to release a bunch of prog frustrations! I had just discovered Steve Hillage, thanks to the legendary German Rockpalast, then I stumbled upon Gong Live, I noticed that Steve Hillage was featured, was very pleased with the wonderful cover art, bought it, listened to it …. it turned out to be a pretty nerveracking experience, not my cup of tea is an understatement, what a very disappointing experience. Today I call Gong Live the worst album I have ever heard, thanks for this topic, very welcoming ….

LOL
I am not this harsh on Annihilator, but the same could be said about other bands: for example, has Megadeth ever created something as good as Peace Sells or Rust in Piece? Has Metallica come close to their Burton days? And i could go on...

I agree The Astonishing is quite awful, but Lulu is clearly far worse.

I've never heard of Vulgar Unicorn, but I enjoy Pineapple Thief a lot. I also enjoy a few things from Radio KAOS and AMLOR, worst things ever they are not if you ask me.

Worst thing ever is something unlistenable (like the last two Triumvirat albums) or extremely boring (Yes - Open Your Eyes).
