Whatever. I was just noting another thick wedge of hypocrisy in a lot of the reviews. In a nutshell, I like this ergo it's not derivative. I dont like x so its just a 70s prog clone...

Radiohead are such a non-entity to me I'm surprised people actually bother to argue and insult each other over it. Just listen to what you like, ignore the rest - is that so hard?

It's a old, 9-page long topic on Radiohead on a Prog site, I was intrigued, but saw there was nothing new or interesting. I'll show myself out now.

They've consistently made good, interesting music, have even been an inspiration for other bands.

Yeah but this is an internet forum so this is what we do. Been reading a beer advocate forum with literally hundreds of posts about a brewers poor pay of can slingers.

Generally I like to let the forum "moderate" itself as we are mostly grown-ups here (despite any apparent evidence to the contrary).
That said, we do have rules against personal attacks (attack the argument/ opinion, not the man or woman) and sometimes feel the need to step in. The older I get the more jaded and the less I can be arsed, though. As to my thoughts on the topic, I don't have anything new to add. |

I haven't seen anything in this thread beyond the usual banter.

Yeah. The usual "off" between the younger avant garders and the old school classic prog geezers....

Been a long time since I've been called young but it might be true in this context, I'm 54 so didn't grow up with the classics being new releases though I do pretty much enjoy most of the classics.
