The Democrats play very obvious racial politics as well, yet they are not unvotably racist?

yeah.... he sort of blew a fuse there... easy enough to do I remember the last time I flew... 10 hours stuck in plane with seemingly every single american baby returning from Europe and they all decided to scream and cry for the entire damn flight. Well we touched down at Dulles and proceeded to enter the clusterf**k that is TSA border control. 2 f**king hours later.. after going through several lines for automated devices (to save time you know! ) I was tired, pissed, hungry, horny, drunk and wanting a cigarette so badly I would kill the first motherf**ker that really pissed me off.. well be careful what you ask for after 2 hours.. we end up in another line.. with some rude 20 something kid with a badge and a gun.. who asked for the SAME DAMNED information we had already given... yeah.. I almost went back to the Bad Micky of my youth and grab him by the throat and express my displeasure.... but I didn't... lesson the good Doctor should have not forgotten.. don't f**k the men in charge when it comes to aviation... obviously UA made a dog's dinner and a PR nightmare and disaster of it.

^ Hillary holding up anyone's agenda seems unlikely, she is an independent operator. She is inline with Obama politically, but that doesn't mean she' do what he'd have done under similar circumstances. A gut reaction? Perhaps.

My opinion of Hillary was based on her running as Obama's girl and upholding his agenda. From where do you draw your opinion on Hillary, David? Just a gut reaction?
As to your question about the UA dude, probably yes.

worse? Well said about Hillary.. she was both smart and bellicose ,. and that is is a very good combination.... it is a dangerous world out there man. If you aren't in front in the dangers.. they they are crawling up your ass while you are not looking.
No real thoughts on the United thing.. to be honest.. I've been laughing too hard at all the internet meme's to really care about the guy and if he was right or wrong. God there are some creative witty people in the internet void.

Democrats lost the race for Kansas' 4th district by 6 points. The Dems have to learn from the GOP: Target state races. This is unsexy, but it works. They focused on state races in 2010, swept house, and redrew the lines to favor conservatism for 10 years. We need to hyper focus on 2018 while momentum/energy is still going. Hopefully carry it into 2020. This is where Bernie, after being spat on by most of the party, is now a yuuge asset. One of the most politicians in the country right now, he's stumping all over the place, even West Virginia where he gets standing ovation for advocating single payer healthcare, basically on the road carrying the flag into battle.

yeah.... looking promising.. probably too much to expect a win.. but it continues the trend in these special elections that Dem's are outperforming November by double digits at a bare minimum.. 30 or more points in some cases. Yeah... that Georgia one is one that is not too much to dream for win...decades a Republican stronghold.. now VERY much in play. Cobb country..the other great suburban Atlanta bastion of Republican power in Georgia narrowly went blue in November.. Atlanta's suburbs seem trending blue and when or if they do all the way... the state will go with it .. at least in a national sense. Much as Virginia did.. the heavy urban surburban vote...offsetting all the rural yokel vote... agreed.. that was one of the lessons the party needed to learn... passion and organization at the local grassroots level. Again 2018 is still a ways off.. but it does appear that the party is highly energized and motivated.. not by the DNC.. but at the grassroots, local activist level. well done...

As for these ignorant and insensitive comments from Spicer saying "even Hitler didn't use chemical weapons" is an example of just how systemic is the ignorance and just how out of touch the entire Trump cabinet is to the current state, and past state, of the world we inhabit. At least Spicer apologized. Kellyann Conway would have simply said that Spicer's statement was an "alternate fact."

You're right, Brian. I think Micky assumes that everyone your age is automatically a lefty for life, simply because they are in college with the political views and peers that often entails. Guess what? College kids get older and their views can change once they have kids, mortgages, and more of life's problems. They are not lockstep to the rigidity of their college prof's political wet dreams.
And on the other end, Micky assumes that only Republican voters die. I'll tell you this. My Mom is in her 80s, and without question ALL of her social group are Kennedy era Democrats who faithfully show up at every election to pull the straight Dem ticket. They are among the most faithful Dems I've ever witnessed. Guess what, they also die just like Republican old people. I should know, we are going to funerals as often as we buy groceries it seems.
So while it might be tempting for all you lefties here to assume the Demographic snapshot looks good when you look at Millennial opinion, you have a problem with both ends just like center-rights have. I do agree that many of the data points look better for your side, but not to the extent that they can't be countered/altered by strategy and/or world events for many years to come. Even immigrants to this country, while they may vote overwhelmingly Dem early on, I think they can be quite conservative as well, and even economically so once they get involved in a new business with concerns about their taxes. I think the US will be a toss up for many years to come, trending your way perhaps, but not nearly as quickly, nor cut and dried as some here believe. It's a little messier than that, and I think the pendulum will swing back and forth for years to come.

And don't get me wrong, my gen is clearly Democratic. Pains me to no end we're such apathetic a****les, strong youth turnout would pretty much ensure the Reps never win but what you say is correct...people will "grow up'. I mean...the kids of the 60s voted for Reagan right? Apathy is absolutely the problem. I assume (this seems global) youth will always favor liberalism. The problem is getting them out to vote.
But yeah, I am a millennial (sadly!) I hang with them, talk with them, deal with them (again sadly often) and there is a very weird Sanders/Paul bi polar thing. In general we're open to those ideas. Hell even I had a 2 year flirtation with that stuff. I shant make any bold predictions, just saying it deff is a bit dangerous for people to make these assumptions. That's exactly what the Dems keep doing and keep losing. They have to go out there and take it. Otherwise I do fear a new libertarian GOP could swoop many up. Ya know, if a lot of the future generation is on the fence, they can go either way.
And yeah I'm very sad/angry/depressed about what I see in my fellow millennials. Even among trolls, I've noticed most are completely sincere and just use it as a cover, but even those just out to laugh at others, I will see the occasional praise of a travel ban, posting anger at increased immigration in (insert European country) or how "Europe is being ruined" mostly by muslims. This insane tribalism. Like when Milo got in deep trouble over his defense of pedophilia, instead of rejection of him they just have to create a meme....defending him and picking a random person to represent liberalism (I see Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer often as targets) to make sh*t up about. Because that's how my gen does political discourse. "Your person did this terrible thing" Retort: "Well this person who's liberal did this (maybe lol who cares)" At the risk of sounding like a 60 year old in a 28 year old I fear for the future when my gen take over

I do, and frankly I don't know if we'd be better off with Hillary in this case. I mean I'll take her over Trump, but Hillary is such a shrewd stateswoman and so baggage-laden with global politics that it's possible she'd have an itchier trigger finger than Donald. Hillary is of the new Left-wing Tough, Trump is of the not-so-new Right-wing Weak. Not sure which of those is preferable.

The Christian Right is laughing all the way to the bank with Trump. And it was all worth it for them solely for the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court. Sickening.
