La Bocca della Verità were formed in Rome in 2001, with the intention of reviving the progressive rock music of the seventies (Genesis, Pink Floyd, ELP; PFM, BMS, etc. ...) by means of performing covers of existing material from that era, which they did to very good effect until until 2004.
During this period the band enjoyed much public exposure, including concerts, cultural events, and seminars on progressive rock music. Since 2004 the group has moved away from performing covers to devote themselves entirely to creating their first album of original compositions, entitled "Avenoth". La Bocca della Verità are: - Jimmy BAX / Hammond organ, mellotron, ARP Prosoloist, digital synth, piano, backing vocals - Massimo DI PAOLA / piano, keyboards and synths, backing vocals - Fabrizio MARZIANI / lead vocals, rhythm guitar, twelve-string guitar, flute - Roberto BUCCI / lead guitar, backing vocals - Ivan MARZIANI / drums & percussion - Guglielmo MARIOTTI / Rickenbacker bass, Moog taurus, six and twelve-string guitars, backing vocals "Avenoth" is a concept album consisting of a suite long almost 80 minutes long - comprising various movements & changing atmospheres - all the right ingredients for those who appreciate 70s prog brought right up to date. After a long period of development, it is now finally available for us all to enjoy: http://www.altrock.it/?wpsc-product=avenoth. ![]() AltrOck (Fading Records) track list and timings: 1. Aalready under eval by the RPI team, and will likely be added very shortly.
![]() Thanks for all the potential Biography material should they be added too, mate ![]() Heh, no chance you've found any biography details for Promenade, who we're adding right now? There's not a lick of information on them, with the exception that `they're from Genova' ![]() |

Not much Michael, I'm afraid...best I can do for now is this, slightly edited from the Google-translated Italian text at: http://www.alexetxea.it/evento/il-rumore-bianco-promenade/:
Promenade is a young band from Genoa, formed by highly trained musicians, all coming from studies in the Conservatory. After their participation in the all'Altrock Day in June of 2014, during which they get a resounding success with audiences and critics, they went to work tirelessly to create their first album for the label entitled "Noi al dir di Noi". The disc was finally released on September 23rd 2016, and was presented live in Milan at the "Alex Etxea - La Casa di Alex" venue on the 19th of November 2016. And then there's this site for the full line-up of musicians: http://www.waysidemusic.com/Music-Products/Promenade-Noi-Al-Dir-Di-Noi__33-FAD-spc-023.aspx - Matteo Barisone / vocals and keyboards - Gianluca Barisone / guitars - Stefano Scarella / bass & saxophone - Simone Scala / drums Guests: - Damiano Baroni / violin - Francesco Bagnasco / violin - Gigi Magnozzi / viola - Giacomo Biagi / cello - Giovanni Aquillino / flute - Jacopo Bagutti / bassoon You can probably get more - and perhaps a photo or two - from an email to: [email protected], or by sending them a message via https://www.facebook.com/Promenade-112931495433989/. Hope that helps! PS. It would be good if you can get La Bocca della Verità added before the end of the year - strong candidate for inclusion in a few "top albums of the year" lists, methinks. ![]() |

Thanks, David, very much appreciated.
That likely won't be a problem getting them added well before then. Even if I do the Add, I've got a nigthshift block coming up at work where it's easier to work in my spare-time on these adds as opposed to a string of reviews. ![]() |

Good man, Michael!
![]() Potential band pic for Promenade from this YouTube vid, if nothing else suitable surfaces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txc6OQikZyA. ![]() Their facebook cover photo would be ok too if it weren't so poorly proportioned (an exaggerated 960 × 480 landscape type image).

Does anyone have the CD of this yet and can please confirm exactly what the tracklisting is? Some information suggests 13 tracks, the Bandcamp page says 11, and the Newprogreleases blog page says 15 tracks!

It might be because of the suite being divided in three and two tracks being joined. This tracklist is more detailed.

Yes, and I'm assuming that the suite in the middle is indexed into seperate tracks on the CD as opposed to remaining one piece all joined together?
I do have the CD on order with Syn-Phonic, but definitely don't have the physical disc just yet at home to look at. |

You can always add it now and edit when you get the CD, if it's incorrect.

Just going to be giving it a listen to cast my vote for the Eval shortly, but I think it's just the OCD in me not liking when I don't know what info is correct!
![]() To be honest I'm expecting it will get a `Yes' vote from me because my fellow RPI-ers have already voted yes, and there seems a good buzz about it on the net, so while I'm on nightshift again, it's easier getting the Adds (bio, CD details, etc) ready as opposed to writing reviews. Nice time to catch up on a few older stray ones too. ![]() |

Yeah - that's the page I copied my AltrOck tracklist from - I just added numbers to the 13 suggested main tracks (there are dots at the beginning of three tracks, suggesting that 'Il pianeta vuoto' (6:02), 'Due gambe come noi' (7:40) and 'Il pianeta ostile' (3:32) together make up track four - 'LA SUITE DEI TRE PIANETI' (17:57), but the timings don't add up at all, and bandcamp has also included 'Voyager 1977' (0:30) in this suite, making Avenoth itself track number five on that site, and which makes the overall timing of 'LA SUITE DEI TRE PIANETI' a lot more believable). Bandcamp have also lumped the two tracks 'La rivolta' (8:38) and 'Il massacro dei terrestri' (4:16) together as a single track of 12:55 duration for some unknown reason. ![]() Most sites seem to list the album as 15 separate tracks, which I guess is the best way to go to avoid any confusion here. I'm sure that's how it will be written in the liner notes when your CD eventually shows up, Michael.
