I'm damned sad and I didn't like his music. He was a brilliant poet and lyricist, though.

I pretty much played Songs Of Love And Hate, New Skin For The Old Ceremony and Songs From A Room endlessly in my teens & still play his stuff regularly. His lyrics and delivery just speak to me. I saw him live in the 80's, hauntingly beautiful concert. Damn I'm sad.

One more for the list, Francis the poodle, star of Japanese YouTube cooking channel Cooking With Dog has gone to the great boneyard in the sky...

I learn't how to cook a lot of Japanese dishes from that show, I'm gonna miss him.

If it wasn't for Zacherle, I wouldn't have gotten my first job in show business... working on JEEPERS' CREEPERS, the Los Angeles horror movie host show on KCOP-channel 13, Saturday evenings at 10:00 pm.
We taped the show on Mondays for Saturday broadcast.  Pure Bliss for a teenage boy in 1964.  SPACE PIRATE RADIO wouldn't have happened without those early excursions into the outré.

I liked Omega very much.  Played them on SPACE PIRATE RADIO and the other DJs thought I was insane.  Perhaps they were right.  But my life seemed richer for it.

John Zacherle

If you're not from New York City or Philadelphia, PA this may be a stretch but John Zacherle has pasted away at the age of 98.  This guy was a cult legend in the late 60s and early 70s.  Mostly known as the ghoulish host of mostly B-horror movies.  But most surprisingly from that start he became one of NYC's most well known DJs on (IMO) the best ever FM radio station, WNEW-FM.  In Philadelphia he was more known as the host of an afternoon show that again featured B-horror movies.  In NY my friends and I would go to concerts in NY and after the show switch on WNEW-FM and Zacherle for the ride back to Jersey.  I will miss him.  R.I.P.
