If it wasn't for Zacherle, I wouldn't have gotten my first job in show business... working on JEEPERS' CREEPERS, the Los Angeles horror movie host show on KCOP-channel 13, Saturday evenings at 10:00 pm.
We taped the show on Mondays for Saturday broadcast.  Pure Bliss for a teenage boy in 1964.  SPACE PIRATE RADIO wouldn't have happened without those early excursions into the outré.

One more for the list, Francis the poodle, star of Japanese YouTube cooking channel Cooking With Dog has gone to the great boneyard in the sky...

I learn't how to cook a lot of Japanese dishes from that show, I'm gonna miss him.
What?

This one really friggin' hurts. 'Songs of Love and Hate" is an absolute masterpiece...an absolute favorite of mine for decades. His lyrics were phenomenal. Yeah he was 82, but damnit I'm still bummed out. Crap.Disapprove

I pretty much played Songs Of Love And Hate, New Skin For The Old Ceremony and Songs From A Room endlessly in my teens & still play his stuff regularly. His lyrics and delivery just speak to me. I saw him live in the 80's, hauntingly beautiful concert. Damn I'm sad.

I'm damned sad and I didn't like his music. He was a brilliant poet and lyricist, though.

Vaughn was going to go into politics, running for California senator on the Democratic ticket, but got scared by the Storm Trooper faction who threatened him off camera.  I think he would have done a good job. R.I.P.

Mick Fettes from the Australian band Madder Lake.

Madder Lake are often described as part of the '70's "progressive" scene here in Australia and nominated at least a couple of times for PA but I suspect their recorded legacy is probably too eclectic/uneven to fit here really...
