Sheet-ton of work, really, not that much listening outside of travelling by bus and walking both ways to school as well as walking the dog. Even no time to write the whole "What albums..." essays of mine. LOL But that's the way it is when you grow older. I can't devote much time to "carpe diem"-ing right now, so I am be able to "carpe diem" when I start working.
Yesterday:
Area - Caution Radiation Area
Bubu - Anabelas
Today:
Cherry Five - Cherry Five
This Heat - Deceit

Just one yesterday:

Mad Fellaz - Mad Fellaz 2 - Still a very good album, but man I wish they'd stayed an instrumental band (or at least released this under a different project name). The addition of female English vocals (and lots of them) has completely altered their sound (although you can still hear all the sh*t-hot playing behind and around the voice), and they've taken on a lot of Avant-garde/Rock-in-Opposition and Canterbury sounds.

Art Zoyd - Symphonie pour le  Jour ou Bruleront les Cites Decided I was ready to write a review on this one, I had listened to it so many times in the past and had always liked it. Really like that album. Art Zoyd's early chamber style might very well be more appealing to me than that of UZ. But is it really?

Just two for me:

Hostsonaten - Symphony no 1: Cupid and Psyche - Fabio Zuffanti's most heavily symphonic project releases their most grandiose, stuffy and lavish fully instrumental orchestral/classical/prog-rock fusion to date! Thankfully it's only a 44 minute vinyl-length release, but it's certainly very impressive and impeccably performed self-indulgence!

Mad Fellaz - Mad Fellaz 2 - Mummy, make the voices go away...Lord how I wish they were still an instrumental band. As decent as the voice of the female singer is, the attention span is severely put to the test on this album, far too much singing, plus at 61 minutes in length, it's hard to stay interested for too long...will keep at this one. No doubt the playing is top-notch again, though.

Finally got some time to listen to really enjoy music.

Osanna - Palepoli First few listens, I had hard time  enjoying this album, discarding it as a bit primitive, but hell, were I wrong? I just love the freak-outy nature and how it goes through so many different, unique sound "rooms", sometimes coming back, sometimes entering for a brief minute. Amazing!

Soft Machine - Seven I was feeling kind of fusiony, yet a bit electronic - where can you go other than Soft Machine's Seven in that kind of scenario? This album is great. I just can't understand why it is not liked that much here on PA. I mean, it's far more than aimless noodlings. The music is really beautiful here!

Delirium - Dolce Acqua Thought I would explore a bit more of RPI's folky style, seeing the album on one of the prog-folk lists on Rate Your Music. This is pretty nice. Not excellent, but good in its own right. However, I find that non-folk RPI bands often played better folk on their acoustic passages than Delirium, see me there?

News From Babel - Sirens and Silences/Work Resumed on the Tower Love News From Babel! This album is generally harder to get into than the much-acclaimed Letters Home (which features Robert Wyatt), but is no less interesting and worth your time. Fantastic music. Lindsay Cooper was a phenomenal composer, which this album proves.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso - Darwin! Another one that took me a longer while to start enjoying. The flame has not fully caught yet, but it’s close. Really started appreciating the role of the synthesizers in adding fullness to the mix. The clarinets are a much-welcome touch. As always, amazing organ and guitar parts and vocals.

Samla Mammas Manna - Måltid Much less comedic than I had remembered It was actually. It’s neither a good or a bad thing - just different. The jazz-rock jams are really hypnotizing, while the tongue-in-cheek moments really make the music more than your ordinary avant-jazz-rock. Gentle Swedish folk suggestions make it come alive!

An all-modern RPI day!

La Coscienza di Zeno – La Notte Anche di Giorno
La Maschera di Cera – Le Porte del Domani
Fabio Zuffanti – La Quarta Vittima
Panther & C – L’Epoca di un Altro – A lovely album, the first track is especially good.
Res Gesta – Odissea – Still one of the best modern Italian symphonic discs of the last few years, incredible vocalist and very strong song-writing.
Moogg – Le Ore I Giorni Gli Anni – Wonderful Italian Canterbury-flavoured band, still a charming debut album.
Hostsonaten – Symphony n. 1: Cupid and Psyche
L’Estate di san Martino – ESM# 40 - the album so good they decided to make it twice in a row – it’s a remake of their previous album from 2012!
