I think I am going to shift focus this week from my favorite cherry tree and my powerful masculinity and try to catch some photos of that family of cardinals or especially that pair of hawks we often see riding the air currents about our job site.
beatiful and majestic.. I'll try to catch some pictures of them next week. |

^They are very well shot. I suppose most areas have a 'ghost village' or something. I love it, but it makes my wife crazy when I pull off the road up some laneway to steal in and shoot some pictures. She's always convinced I'm (we're) going to prison for it.

I don't take many photos (besides my LP's ) but here's a photo I took last year. I walk around town so many times but I never stop to look at historical buildings It's a monastery built in the 13th century.

I was just about to say that I only take pictures of small kids, but that sounded a tad too creepy. It is however the truth. I only really pick up a camera when I need to 'document' my day with the kids.
'Yes it is absolutely true! We WERE playing with dinosaurs in a shrubbary!!!' Now that I think of it, I may have a few photos of a wall in Rome. Have no idea on how to transfer the buggers over to my laptop and further onto PA. The only pics I've ever posted here were pics other people took. Maybe one day. |

Btw love those pics Alex! Reminds me of your Harold Budd review - certainly gives it a nice backdrop.

I don't plan on stopping . I'm glad you enjoy them!
There's abandoned/vacant buildings in every town, not knowing what you're driving up to/walking into is part of the enjoyment of it.
Thanks, glad you like'em! See below for that . Yes it was sad and absolutely awesome at the same time. Who would ever think that there would be a DMC DeLorean in a super sketchy abandoned warehouse in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a surprise to say the least. The whole place though was filled with vehicle scrap, and other junk vehicles, it was also quite clear that somebody was using the place for not so legal activities. The city finally cleaned everything up, repainted the warehouse, and put up a for sale sign a couple years ago, no one has bought it though.
Hehe, thanks, that's the only time I've ever done that however, you really need to be alert when traipsing around in abandoned buildings, and being able to hear the sound of other people, cracking floors, alarms, anything is invaluable. This was the place I actually listened to Budd's Abandoned Cities in. It's an old coal breaker in rural Pennsylvania, they've unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you are) started demolishing it. It was one of my favorite explores to date. |
