Probably in the minority, but Schulze. Haven't even heard "Mirage" or "X", which seem to be some huge favourites, but I still much prefer him to Mahavishnu. As commendable as their music is, it's not quite listenable enough and I get sick of the 70s fusion sound pretty quickly.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - often imitated NEVER duplicated.

Actually a tough choice...I love Birds of Fire & Inner Mounting Flame, but with Mirage/Picture Music/X/Timewind Klaus gets the vote for sheer volume Wink

Wow... They are so different... And each one is great in their own fields. I cannot and do not want to choose!

Has to be Schulze - Mahavishnu kicked ass, but it was rather a brilliant burnout, while Schulze was an innovator and had staying power.

Gah.

Has to be Schulze though...way more excellence.

Compared to Schulze, Mahavishnu Orchestra's existence was unfortunately too short...

Let's see shall we - MO has made one album I'm fond of in Apocalypse. Klaus has made over 20. Easy pick.

Mahavishnu, especially the Apocolypse and Visions albums.....I played the first two to death and only recently went back and rediscovered the Mach II MO.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
