I know how many people have been affected by this ghastly disease that strikes in so many ways, each more insidious than the last.  I was just thinking that there will be no public outpouring of grief for my sister, like there was for Squire or Bowie, yet her life had as much value.  Every life has value, and that's why I wanted to post about hers, that ended far too early, just as theirs did.

Terri, I feel for you and offer my condolences as well.  I lost my mother to cancer in the 80s, an uncle also a few years ago, my stepson's girlfriend a little over a year ago to melanoma (hideous skin cancer) that was very aggressive, and a 1rst cousin a few months ago.

All the technology, it still evades us.

My prayers are with you and you are not alone!

f**k cancer indeed.  I lost my grandfather to it. His three daughters offered to do whatever they could and the doctor told them it was too late and there was no cure.  But more than that, what was painful was what the disease reduced him to before he could die.  My condolences are with you, it cannot have been an easy passage.

again, all, thanks for the sympathy and to JD for the virtual hug. I'm feeling kind of fragile today and needed the warmth.

F*uck cancer, just f*ck it.
Terri, you and your family have my heartfelt sympathy. A few years ago my mother in-law was diagnosed and gone within 7 weeks.

Here's a virtual hug from a distant friend.  Hug
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

It has to be stopped.  I'm surprised we still don't have more effective treatments.  People with HIV are living full, fairly normal lives but cancer patients are still made to gamble with modern medicine's best options.

thanks, guys!  Kind words do help, and I needed to remember that Tolkien line today.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, Terri. Think of the good times and try not to dwell on the sad. But, as J.R.R. Tolkien wrote, 'I will not say, do not weep, for not all tears are an evil.'

someday... someday one would hope at least.. we will finally find a cure for it. It would be one thing if were a direct cause and effect with smoking. Especially among the younger who should know that sh*t can kill you. Howeer it seems many get it and don't ever smoke. Environmental, genetic. Who knows but with the talent, smarts, and with a bit of finanical support you might think our best and brightest could find a cure for it.

thanks to you both.  It's just been such a crappy year for people dying of this ghastly disease but it just got a little too close to home now.

Heart

I can only relate ..being in essence an only child.. in that how close my ex-wife was to her sister. I married one..and got two women in the process.

Deepest condolences Terri. Cry
