Hey we like Ozzy too.  He won't be around that much longer, and when he goes his contributions will be praised, as they should be.  He was one of the handful of guys who invented heavy metal.

Recently started to go through the back catalogue of ELP's work as I had not visited any of their old albums for many years. This was prompted by a thread on these boards recently.
What I remember from my teenage years and what I am discovering now has made me change my mind about the band considerably over the last 2-3 weeks alone. They were indeed one of the masters of Prog and very playful over what they did. It's this playfulness I had missed when I first heard their albums many years back.
Keith Emerson's contribution was massive to the sound and it's with his keyboard playing that I am becoming taken back by.
Just woke up to the news. Must admit to being still in shock here at the loss. Very sad indeed another founding father of the music we love has passed on.
Really sad,I'll miss you lots.Cry

Dreadful tragedy. He was one of my heroes, and a musical hero for so many people here as well.

Such dreadful news. He always seemed to positive, very up beat.

There's been a lot of vulnerability in the public world. Mick Jagger's girlfriend committed suicide, Brad Delp and Robin Williams two more who should still be with us.

Must appreciate what we have, now, for tomorrow may very well be too late. (I probably accidentally nicked that from someone). Let me know...

Keith Emerson - there's a lot in that name. R.I.P.

Well he did get a lot better a few years ago, after someone finally had the inspiring idea that giving him 40 different types of medication per day could part of making him worse instead of better. He's might be as indestructabl as Richards, but in the end they'll both turn out to be mortal beings.

I just read that possible cause of Keith's depression were hand related neurological problems which were making him unable to play. He loved making music so  much that he prefered to die than to live without it.
I am a lonely man, my solitude is true,

my eyes have borne stark witness

and now my nights are numbered, too.

RIP

Can't believe it was self inflicted, what an incredible player. If it really was physical issues keeping him from playing though, I can't imagine a worse fate for the man than that - I absolutely love Pictures and played it so many times, utterly tragic honestly.
