For the past few months when I'm uploading a new image, the image shows on the image properties window on the right and when I'm adjusting the image width and height and click OK, I get "Error inserting object in current location"
Then I have to choose the image again from the list on the left, adjust width and height again click OK and then it's fine.

Am I alone on this?

I only get this problem whenever I'm using my phone....so I don't any more. I know you use your's as well Sagi, but if it's happening while you're on the computer, then I'm at a loss as to what's going down or indeed how to help (like in most other casesEmbarrassed).

I used to get this problem quite a lot, although not after adjusting the image properties, then I would just reinsert it and it would work ok. I've not had the problem since the forum software update though.

I have the same problem (the "always ring twice-bug") when I use Google Chrome. I think it works better with Internet Explorer.

Note: I didn't have it the last few days before the forum software update.

^ Yes - the image upload feature of the forum seems to be screwed (and has been for a couple of days now):
All I can get from it when trying to upload a smallish (500px by 350px) jpeg image from my computer is exactly the same message - time and time again (using Chrome browser). The feature worked fine three days ago, but not since.

^Ditto, I've been posting images for months / years in the "Pictures at an Ex Photography" Forum as well as "The Brand Spanking New Counting Thread" without a problem, but all of a sudden BAM ! She's a no-go. I don't think the problem is at my end.

I tried today too, I was quite surprised.....
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Still out of action even now - and no response from admins or anyone else who might know what is going on here, so I've sent a message to M@X (it seems like a code corruption which would probably require attention from him to fix anyway). He hasn't actually logged in to the site since September 7th last year, so it might be a while yet before we get a resolution.

At least I've tried something to move this issue forward... Embarrassed

Is the Image Upload feature working ok for you then Bartek (ie the picture icon in the middle of the top row of the full reply editor - also used with the avatar upload feature in the member control panel)? I haven't had any joy with either for about a week now. Ermm

Edit: Just tried the feature in Internet Explorer 11 instead of Chrome, and same thing happens - just get:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while uploading file/image.
Please check the Asp Smart Upload Component is installed on the server.
Please contact the Forum Administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_create_AspSmartUpload_object
File Name:- functions_upload.asp
Forum Version:- 11.01

Error details:-
Microsoft VBScript runtime error
ActiveX component can't create object

...Every time.  Cry

Edit: Let me just clarify this a bit - I can insert this image by entering its URL in the appropriate field of the 'Insert Image' feature, but if I save it to my computer and then try to upload it via the 'choose file' option of the same gizmo, it fails every time with the error message above.

Does that make any more sense ?? Embarrassed

^Yep, now I know what you mean. Doesn't work for me either.

Do you know anyone in our hierarchy (other than M@X himself) who might be able to fix it?  M@X doesn't seem to drop by all that often these days, it seems. Ermm

I think Andy or someone has him on facebook so I'll notify him about sending M@X a message, otherwise I don't think there's much we can do as admins for bugs like this. Maybe the forum software update is in our power though, I'll check that too if it's a fix.

Misery loves company!

Thanks one and all for looking into this. I miss contributing to the "Brand Spanking New Counting" Thread as well as the "Pictures at an Ex" photography thread. I'll keep checking in.

Odd that it doesn't affect everyone equally though isn't it. Perhaps browser and OS release variations makes a difference.
