Topic: How about a little love for Unexpect? Posted: December 11 2015 at 13:39 |
As everyone always gets adviced I tried searching for this kind of topics, but didnīt find any.
I started to listen Unexpects music in 2010. And they still stand as my favorite new "find" of this current decade. And their 2011 album is quite possibly my favorite album of this decade. Itīs such a shame they split up recently. Iīm hoping that Chaoths new project Vvon Dogma will be good.
Have any of you heard of any other projects by other members of the band?
Anyway the greatest thing to me about their music are the violins which I think are used in a very different way than is usual in metal.
Iīll just put this here as sort of... a bonus (for the lack of a better word) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLeXaxlSbc8

I'm a fan. The only project I know of that features a former Unexpect member is Humanoid, with ChaotH on bass. I haven't heard anything about Vvon Dogma, but will make it a point to check it out.

I had no idea they'd split up, hugely disappointing as I loved this band. Fables of the Sleepless Empire is one of my favourite albums, I think I put it in the top 20 for my list in the Ultimate PA albums poll that Kazza recently started.
Will have to look into their other projects, particularly those of Chaoth, such a mad bassist!

They are on hiatus to be more accurate, but we all know what that means. It would be miracle if they realeased something in the next 10 years.

Still one of the best avant-garde metal bands in my opinion. I've always been a huge fan of In a Flesh Aquarium in particular.

Very good band, Flesh Aquarium is probably my favorite, will be on the look out for future activities by the former members.

One of the most interesting bands to emerge in a long time. Probably one of my favorites of the new millenium. I ordered directly last year a couple albums after losing them in a flood and caotH told me they were working on a new album at a leisurely pace. Was surprised to find out recently they broke up but hoping there is an archival bonus track album at least in the future or that they reconsider and have the urge for just one more album

I absolutely love UneXpect. I regret that I never saw them live. A prog metal demon squashed UneXpect and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum out of eXistence. ( Two band's who reminded me of each other. What a pity.)

I've always thought UneXpect were interesting, but was never too into them. Probably about time I give them another go.
