After Geddy he was the first bass player I had heard who was very upfront in the mix and a huge part of a band's sound. I still think of Fragile when I hear Squire's name. He was a huge influence on Geddy and so many other bass players.
I mentioned on another site that i'm sure Geddy will mention Chris at their show in New York City tomorrow night. I was at the Toronto show by Rush in 2003 and Geddy dedicated a song to Entwhistle who had just passed back then.
