True.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
Indeed! Though I think JPM was probably going to win! He never even had a chance to scratch back any positions, it kept going to yellow so fast!
But yeah, that race sucked. Shame since I was looking forward to the new track. And I guess that was mean of me to diminish Hinch's win but let's be real, he got cycled to the front on rainy pit stops and simply sat behind the pace car the rest of the race. He needs to worship the racing gods for this one
True @ Verstappen, he made some great passes. I think he, Sainz, Nasr and Ericsson are gunna be studs. So much talent in the field these days. I forgot who it was on, but there was one where he came from waaaay back to make the pass, and there was not a puff of smoke or slide or anything, despite such heavy breaking and overtake, was some slick driving

That was on Ericsson who I doubt will go much further than Sauber, it'll be a long time before people forget that Lotterer outqualified him by a second at Spa last year in his only F1 drive.

It doesn't help that Nasr isn't considered top quality, he was 3rd in GP2 last year (in his 3rd year) and was more consistent than fast, with both Jolyon Palmer (currently Lotus 3rd driver) and Stoffel Vandoorn (McLaren junior, absolutely brilliant, the first rookie to win races for some time in GP2) much faster.

I've seen others say they get a bit of a Can-Am vibe from this years Indycars. A lot of people have been saying that NOLA reminds them of Portland, and it's certainly got the weather to match as it's been a bit of a wash out (qualy scrapped due to a lighting storm). JPM on pole (grid sorted by points), so it'll probably be the only time this year that the completely useless Dracone starts from something other than last.
Great racing from Verstappen today, he's reminding me of Hamilton in 2007.
Do they mean like this:
Or like this:
Denny Hume (top) and Patrick Tambay's car below. Another model! Denny has the real Can Am car, IMHO. Sweet!

Definitely the Lola (a T330 right?), since the car started life as an F5000 single seater and got converted to the revived Can-Am spec in the late 70's it's the obvious comparison point. I can't see any visual connection to then late 60's/early 70's style Can-Am cars.

Bahrain GP this weekend, looks like Ferrari could be putting Merc under real pressure again here. Good weekend for motorsport all round actually, with Indycar and USC from Long Beach, BTCC from Donington and Japanese Super Formula from Suzuka.
Seems Button has been having a lot of trouble with battery and ECU on his car this weekend affecting both his FP1 and 2 running.
Bahrain GP and Long Beach GP tomorrow! Great day, and the timing is great, Bahrain is at normal hours here and just a few hours later is Long Beach. Gunna be an awesome day of racing.
I can even catch both qualifyings.
Aw yeah, Alonso is pulling away from Button already

^Lol, Jenson's having an absolute nightmare, 3 failures in 4 sessions this weekend. At least the car seems faster, and from Spain we may see even bigger performance jumps.
WHAT!? Did Button just have a failure in qualifying? I have it on in the background and heard em say "Alonso is carrying the flag for McLaren now" and saw Jenson's car sitting on the side.
Nightmare is a understatement! This is worse than Minardi levels of bad
That said, Alonso makes it into Q2. Guess it is indeed progress! Actually a 9th place in Q1 is pretty impressive.
Fairly typical results: Ferrari mixed in with Merc, followed by Williams. Really impressive how strong they are this year, if there's some DNF's up top (which is inevitable) Massa or Bottas can deff grab some podiums.
On the flip side, it's too early to be definitive but Kvyat has been underwhelming thus far

It sucks for Button, but honestly, until they're both fighting for points paying positions, there really is no difference between what happened to him in qualy and just running at the back during the race. And at least this way, they can work out some more of the kinks until they can ramp up the engine to full capacity. So, it sucks for Jenson, but as they're still technically in development, this is just part of the process.
Pretty good race at Bahrain! Rosberg made some great passes on Kimi and Seb, just to overshoot that turn and give up 2nd to Kimi. Seems like it could have been a break issue, which is possible...seems Hami really slowed up at the end and if there were 2-3 more laps Kimi may have been right there. Great strategy and race for him!
Shame for Vettel damaging that wing and never managing to get past Bottas, Grosjean nabs a decent finish again and Kvyat pulls himself to 9th.
The real shocker of course being Alonso who managed to finish 11th, jokes aside about how off they've been McLaren is clearly getting closer.

Probably the raciest I've ever seen Rosberg that. Decisive, agressive overtakes haven't normally been a hallmark of his before but he drove well today. It was typical that the brakes gaveup just as Kimi caught him though, one more lap and he'd have had Hamilton as well.

I miss not seeing Hamilton and Rosberg go toe to toe like last year. I happy that Ferrari are coming on strong but an inter team rivalry just can't be beat!
Mmmm! Long Beach is next!
Oh, forgot to give kudos to Massa, who started on pit lane after stalling before the race and still nabbed a point.
Last year had a laugh at Ferrari and I have to wonder if he has any pleasure in Alonso's situation. Or perhaps he's not as horrible as I would be
Long Beach! I am stoked. Usually a good race. More diversity in this qualifying, and glad to see RHR up in 4th. He had this race won last year, absolutely his and blew it with that stupid ass move, so would be great to see him redeem himself. Also can anyway pierce the Penske wall yet.
No idea what happened to Power but starting in 18th...that should make for some entertaining racing.
Very clean, though fairly uneventful Long Beach GP until the last 10 laps.
Good win for Scott Dixon who grabbed the lead and never let it go, Helio finishes a safe second, and JPM in third who held off a strong attack from Pagenaud, who held off a battle from a charging Kanaan, who then held off a battle from a charging Bourdais. Was some great final laps!
Real nightmare for Power, not sure what happened but looks like someone accidentally created a log jam going into pit lane and I think(?) in some automatic trigger to prevent a stall or something turned off Power's car, putting him a lap down and ran around there all day. What a disaster.
