That's what I meant. LOL

To be honest, I've never heard it. However, ever since visiting the site I've wondered why it's in its own separate place. Is it something like Krautrock where it was a sort of artistic movement?

I hope you can find an answer in the first chapter of this book: you can read it in the preview:

TeleStrat, I was on one who added the band to the Archives, as well as posting the CD details and review, which you can read here, should explain a bit more about it!

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=1391622

Sagi, Dave - this might actually be an album that appeals to you both, it's got a definite less-polished, genuine 70's sound to it. It's a really fine disc, a quiet little RPI achiever!
Thanks Mike, but there isn't anything appropriate on utube to listen to, I'll keep looking though, sounds like something I will dig according to your review.

Great albums my friend!

There are so many albums to recommend, I think it will be easier if you'll list the ones you do know.

Hello Sagichim
I have quite a few originals from the 70s but imports back then were not always readily available
so I have some gaps. That's why I ordered Palepoli and Wings Of Love on CD.
I'm pretty much caught up on New Trolls, PFM and Sensations' Fix but I only have Beyond Leng, Smogmagica
and Verita Nascoste from Le Orme.
I have the self titled Ibis but don't know if they have anything else.
The same is true with Maxophone.
I like Citta Frontale but only have El Tor.

Also, any recommendations on newer bands (based on what I've mentioned) are welcomed.

Hi there Telestrat - I hope you don't mind me jumping in to give some recs, but I love passing the word of great RPI on.

Il Balletto di Bronzo - Ys (a masterpiece that every prog fan should have in their collection imo. Wild and wholly original this baby will take you for a ride like nothing else)
Cervello - Melos (see above description but add some of the most infectious melody work north of Ghana)
Semiramis - Dedicato a Frazz (teen band with a naive energy and melody on their lips that literally swoops you out of your chair)
Procession - Frontiera (proof that one doesn't need synths in prog)
Delirium - lll (just about the most heartfelt and warm RPI album out there, sprinkled with intimate folky passages and a recurring sax played theme that makes grown men into pools of jello)
Rocky's Filj - Storie di Uomini e non (hard rocking with all the right Italian trimmings and a reed section that kicks your backside into next week in the most wonderful manner conceivable)
Franco Battiato - Pollution (Italy's most beautiful voice accompanied by an ingenious approach to the VCS3 and mixing RPI with a psychedelic dreamy charm)

Plenty more where that came from, but I'll leave it at that for now.

Thanks Sagi
From the list I only have Ys and it is a favorite.
Everything else looks really good and sounds like things I would be interested in.
I'll post regularly as I try new things.
Thanks again

BTW, what does everyone think about Aurora Lunare?

Heh I'm David but Sagi is a good friend of mine, so I'm honoured.

Anyhoo I'm just glad to pass the word, so you're quite welcome! Cool that you already have Ys - it is such a powerful sucker!
I will be looking forward to your thoughts on any of the others if you can find them. Godspeed!

Sorry, got the names mixed up.
Everything looks interesting and Franco Battiato, Rocky's Filj and Cervello caught my attention
right away.
Then I'll work through the rest of the list.  Thumbs Up

The Album of "Aurora Lunare" was maybe my favourite from last years releases.
Who they bring back that 70s feeling is perfect.

Forgot to reply earlier myself, thanks H!

Yep, definitely recommended. Lots of retro vintage 70's feeling throughout, and it's overloaded with synths! I think in my review I might have referred to it as `synth porn'! Hmmmm, if I didn't, I now kind of wish I did!

I only picked up the Ys album a month or two back, Sam, it's a damn knockout. A real sense of danger to it, very wild stuff!

I listened to several tracks from Cervello and Aurora Lunare yesterday and liked everything I heard.
I will follow up today on some of the other recommendations.

I have several albums by PFM and Le Orme but not Per un Amico or Felona e Serona so those go on the list.
I also have Zarathustra and have played it recently and like it (since I've found out what it's worth i'm almost
afraid to handle it).

I'd actually owned a CD of it for years, but I discovered that the CD was faulty and kept on cutting out! So yes, I've only just found a new CD and this one plays perfectly...so I'm kind of playing the catch-up game with that classic!

I forgot to mention that I was pleasantly surprised to find Corrado Rustici on the Cervello album.
I've been a long time fan of Corrado and Danilo's guitar work with Osanna, Nova and Uno.
I would be interested in finding other projects they've been involved with.
