well I`ve never ever done a blog before. well I don`t remember doing one, so its a start of the geek prog fans blog. will it be full of joyful happening happiness with the rose tinted glasses on. absolutely NO... as realities aren't likely to be are they, this is life an not fiction its only like the movies well your within your own hiding place from the crap lifecycles throw your way, well mine is headphones on and PROG all the way... which is pretty much as its been since `73 the than teenaged GF first found its helpful exit which was the death of my father and best friend. I was already under the spell of the progressive music, its always aided me through lifecycles darker moments also the lighter ones too! maybe this is just me whom seems to use the prog as a hiding place for time out of reality... but I`ve also been a seeker of all things to enlighten, wonder, enrich the life I`ve been given than again have I for filled my life as seen within my childhood dreams of where I`d be...

Prog is my happy place too, always get lost in each and every album I listen to (some more than others). It is an escape from every day s.h.i.t. And I think we all cop the burnt end of the stick from time to time (it's just that in some cases, the stick is still burning). Yin and Yang, my friend, without the bad, we don't get the good. Prog on, buddy

I still have to pinch myself once in a while that i've found this amazing style of music we call Prog. It's part of what makes life good even when i'm working long hours through the week and don't want to do that anymore. The good out-weighs the bad easily. I lost my dad over 20 years ago and am still finding things out about him I didn't know back then. He was into Big Band music and recently my cousin sent a picture of my dad sitting behind this Pearl drum-set and my cousin who is a drummer said he could play. I had no idea but back in the day my dad's parents had a dance hall for years and it was live bands that played the music so i'm sure that's where he must have learned a thing or two about drumming, since he was the bouncer there maybe they showed him some stuff.

well there isn't any way to state the manner of the geekproger as its been a morning of busy tests/interviews ooh goodies not. well there are a shortage of the older gits there so I`m not holding out much hope, but you never now. isn't there surely somewhere there`s a lighter sides of happiness without the darkest demons of our own making, where there shouldn't have been the fixed mixed of inner troubles of small but harmful, pasted missed through out lifelines. so where are the ends of the minds upper topics... ooh where`s the PROG!

By geek prog do you mean songs about super heroes, comic book prog bands, and things related to hard science fiction or legit math?

I was trying to think of a nice way to ask you this but I guess this will have to sufficeEmbarrassed:

Geekfreak: Isn't this "blog" very much the same as the thread you started called Deep Thinking, where you talk about life's struggles and music?

We would prefer it if you didn't start numerous of threads that all basically have the same function ie giving you an opportunity to vent your everyday thoughts and ideas.

It's ok
A lot of people struggle with the blog format and don't really understand what a blog constitutes. Well on PA you need to make your subject prog - at least if you want it to be posted in Prog Blogs.
If you just want a place where you get philosophical and talk about whatever, then I heartily recommend you use the deep thinking thread
