The best "progressive" songs from the band in my opinion. You may suggest other songs below of course.
Normally Bohemian would win, but since this site is more about prog, I'd like to see what goes down (not to say Bohemian isn't progressive). I honestly can't pick a song...

definitely gonna look into more from Queen, especially their early years. so for now, i go for Bohemian Rhapsody with Innuendo being an honorable mention. that could change when the time comes.

The Black Queen rules, if only Bohemian didn't get so commercially successful to become tiredsome.

Prophet Song last? Thought it would be in the lead. I voted for it - their technicolor masterstroke, but March of the Black Queen is grand as well.

The Prophet's Song. |

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night. |

The Prophet Song - the song has a dark epic feel and I love the harmony element halfway through the song. For me it is the highlight of the excellent A Night of the Opera.

I went with the Rhapsody, because it impressed me so instantaneously, so much and so long ago. The Prophet and the Black Queen are perhaps equally good, but trigger a more modest emotional response in me.
There is something wrong with Innuendo; not sure what, though. Just don't like it.

The frenetic, over-the-top insanity of March of the Black Queen makes the song special to me. I'd follow that up with The Prophet's Song (because, after all, now I know), and then Bohemian Rhapsody. Innuendo shouldn't even be included in this list.

My thoughts exactly. |

March of The Black Queen, The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke, Ogre Battle, Great King Rat, Flick of the Wrist, Stone Cold Crazy...actually all the stuff from Queen I and II and some from their third album " Sheer Heart Attack" !
Those are the most progressive Queen albums but it seems only few know about them!
