Seriusly i think Gilmour was the coolest prog rocker
[/QUOTE]
Gilmour was pretty cool looking. Tony Levin is pretty intense-looking...he
did the whole bald thing way before it was cool (though it could very well
have been inspired by Kojak...who was very big at the time)
BTW, I don't know why, but the 80s jsut sucked the coolness out of
anyone's looks. Even Paul McCartney started sporting a mullet. How
controversial was that?

Why would dressing up like a flower be cool. In my high school.. I know exactly what Mr. Gabriel would of been called....
Just kidding... I think Gabriel was cool... I think Gilmour was a lot cooler, even had that fashion hair part long before all others..
But y'all know I have to agree with firth of Fith... the coolest was GREG!

Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater. I mean c'mon, the man embodies what it
means to be a rock star, and the fact that he has the chops to maintain
a superior talent makes him the coolest prog-rocker by far (the rest of
Dream Theater don't fall too far behind...except for John Myung ).
The dudes from Pain of Salvation look pretty badass as well

Yeah, Mike has a really cool stage presence, but I could do without the constant spitting. Petrucci calls him "The Camel" on the documentary portion of Live At Budokan, and has plexiglass enclosures for all his rack and amplification equipment to prevent spit damage.
I would have to say David Gilmour is the coolest of all proggers, such an unflappable, classy stage demeanor. In fact, I (subconsciously, or not? ) copied his style of "set mouth, look down and to the side with the occasional close-lipped smile" way of playing when I was first learning guitar.

One of the LEAST cool looking proggers:
Very very powerful drummer, but some of the most hilarious "drum faces" ever.

I always thought Gilmour looked pretty majestic, like the kind of guy I'd let lead me into battle, swinging his axe etc.

It's only knock and knowall, but I like it...
