Here's an old photo I thought was lost. I think it was 1994, at ProgScape in Baltimore MD. I'm the guy with the beard (I'd even forgotten I used to have one) and also pictured is Nicklas and Anna-Sofi from Anekdoten, who were supporting their debut album at the time, though they were already playing songs from Nucleus at that point too. I was pretty star-struck. My friend Rob is next to me. He had met the band a few weeks earlier at ProgFest, and had cooked up the idea that he could guest with them on soprano saxophone, which he did at this show (played the trumpet solo part in "Wheel" and then the soprano sax part in King Crimson's "Starless", the encore). Before the show, he and I were in my car listening to the 2 songs on the tape deck as he tried to learn the parts.
Between the last song of the regular set ("Wheel") and the encore ("Starless"), Rob was backstage, so I chatted with a nearby prog nut, as we did the usual "what do you think they're going to do for an encore??" conversation. He was a very excitable guy, and I kept my cards close to my chest, as I was the only one in the audience who knew what the encore was going to be. "Hey!" I said breathlessly. "You know what would be REALLY great?" "What? What?" "Nah.. they wouldn't do that..." "What? What are you thinking of??" I think he was salivating. "Well, I was just thinking how incredibly cool it would be if they did "Starless" "HOLY $#% that would be so amazingly incredible!!" They came back on stage and did Starless, and the guy passed out. It seems that my passion for music started early, I guess that I was around 5 years old here, around 1971 or so, emulating Miles Davis

Mostly Jazz and popular music, but I have to say that I did not pick up much of his Jazz music. At the same time my older sisters-brother-cousins were already playing late 60's rock and I became more attracted to it than to my parent's Jazz.

Did you have a decent singer?
