I have just got a bit into Black Sabbath this year. However, though there are many songs I have liked, the whole albums just don't do it so well for me. I guess my favourites so far have been the live albums "Live Evil" and "Reunion", since they have most of my favouirte songs, and sound so much better than the studio versions (too bad that the song Heaven & Hell is split between songs on Live Evil).

I rather want to get this Seventh Star album too, since I like how Glenn Hughes sings. Too bad the special edition with live track included have another singer instead of Hughes, for otherwise it would have sealed the deal. I guess I should also get Born Again, but the special edition too, for that one does have the live tracks with Ian Gillan (actually, I'm more interested in that album because of the live bonus tracks than because of the main album).

As I said in OP, my fav is SBS, but my second fav - very close - is TE, which is a VERY underrated album IMO; Sabotage comes on third place.

For those who like Seventh Star, I highly recommend the Iommi/Hughes album Fused. IMO it is superior to Seventh Star as it has a much heavier approach.

Sabotage. A nice link between early metal and the later New Wave of British Heavy Metal developed by bands like Judas Priest. Plus, I think this album has Ozzy delivering his best vocal performance.

Vol.4 unfortunately is not here and it is without any doubt one of my very favourite albums, even though Spiral Architect (from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) is my very favourite Black Sabbath track, and what a proggy song it is!, followed then by Snowblind, Wheels Of Confusion_The Straightener (just love this instrumental!), Under The Sun Every Day Comes, The Thrill Of It All from Sabotage (one of the best dynamics, just thrilling guitars!), Killing Yourself to Live and Tomorrow's Dream (both from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath). Who Are You? is the most odd Sabbath's song I ever listened to.
Having that said, Paranoid followed by Technical Ecstasy - I like: Fairies Wear Boots (my fave from Paranoid), War Pigs, Paranoid, Planet Caravan, Gipsy, Dirty Women (the guitars closing it are just amazing!) and You Won't Change Me.
From the s/t I still don't know Warning and Sleeping Village, enjoy only Behind The Wall Of Sleep, and I prefer the version of NIB sung by Dio in the Live Evil show.
Another album worth mentioning which is not here too is Master of Reality, the trio Children Of The Grave-Orchid-Lord Of This World is indeed very good, and I'm looking forward to know the track Solitude.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Dont listen to the post Ozzy stuff but a nod to Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules and Born Again.
Edit: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage is always a tough call for number 1!

Yep...arguably their best ,....and probably the biggest seller...?
But I lost interest after Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

Loved that creepy vibe of the debut and the fuzzy guitar of Paranoid. By Masters, I'm saturated with the sound; good album, but a definite drop excitement-wise from the first two. After Masters, I get off the boat.
