Leaving out the likes of Led Zeppelin & Queen, which of these is your favourite act listed on PA as being "Prog Related"?

I'll say Phish.  I don't listen to them as much anymore, but I was a true junkie for a while.

What a strange mix. How on earth do I pick my favorite out of Vangelis, Kate Bush, Terry Riley or David Bowie?

VANGELIS!!!

Why is he even prog-related? Some of his stuff is very proggy. Either they overlooked the fact he's done more than soundtracks, or saw how his music is so diverse that they didn't know where to put him, and gave up.

I'm saying the same since ages, but it's probably because he has crossed every subgenre during the years.
Anyway I can't not vote for Barrett, Wishbone Ash, Riley and Bowie.

Those five are almost always in my mp3 reader's playlist
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Groundhogs!!

Man I love everything this band has done. Tony Mcphee is one of the most overlooked guitar players around here, I don't ever see his name gets mentioned. Anyone who's interested in Hard Rock with prog influences don't look elsewhere, this is some killer stuff.

Bowie.

Btw why not make the poll in the prog related part of the forum? I've moved it now though.

Voted for Journey.  Younger me would have voted for Iron Maiden.  The other option would been to have dined on Phish Styx.

'cos you can't. People can't create a polls in the PP & PR Lounge - it's that way for a reason - if anyone could start a poll there it would rapidly get choked with "add this band" and "delete that band" type polls - Admins made it this way on the understanding that they would move any poll into this area if need be. Big smile

If I could chose more than one, I would chose Vangelis, Bowie and Syd Barret, but since we can only chose one, I chose Vangelis

Yep you nailed it

I had to vote Vangelis but he should not really be in prog related. If that was the case I would vote for Kate Bush.

Kate Bush or David Bowie

with Japan a close 3rd to whichever of those Gods (or Godesses) I might chose depending on which side of the bed I get out of.

BTW Why are Talking Heads here? (not in this poll but in PR itself)

I'll come back
