You should read the frontpage of the prog related sub, and that goes for a lot of other people who still have difficulty in understanding how this works

Bands like Watchtower didn't come along and do REAL prog metal until the mid 1980s, so up until then, with Metallica writing 8 minute Thrash songs, that was the closest metal had to prog metal. ? haha. I don't really know I was born in 88

Metallica are related to Prog but not every album is prog. Proggiest album has to be Death Magnetic - incredible complex music!
