Perhaps it would be redundant for someone like me to post in this thread, as only one of the releases in my top 10 for 2013 could be considered prog. But, for some of you folks, your top 10 lists have mostly concerned prog. For those that have found good releases in the indie, pop, electronic, etc scenes, what were your non-prog favorites of 2013?

I actually got a few non-PA releases in my Top 10, including #1.

Here's my Top 10 with the PA albums removed, and with their overall position:

1. Jonathan Wilson - Fanfare (#1 on full list, so my album of the year)
2. Haim - Days Are Gone (#3)
3. Ghost - Infestissumam (#8)
4. The Devil's Blood - III: Tabula Rasa or Death and the Seven Pillars (#17)
5. Janelle Monáe - The Electric Lady (#25)
6. Matt Berry - Kill the Wolf (#28)
7. Arcade Fire - Reflektor (#30)
8. Umberto - Confrontations (#51)
9. The Flaming Lips - The Terror (#53)
10. Chelsea Wolfe - Pain is Beauty (#56)
Bigger on the inside.

I enjoyed Chino Moreno's side project with ex-ISIS band members, Palms, quite a bit.  Very atmospheric and ambient, which really, isn't that hard to achieve with Chino at vocals.

I imagine this will get approved in post-rock at some point, so perhaps doesn't fit in this thread.  Very fine album, I agree.

My #1: Burial's Rival Dealer EP. I enjoyed other albums, but that's the one I keep coming back to... 2) Kanye's Yeezus. I've listened to it off and on, and know I need to seriously spend more time with it.

To be honest, though, not a lot from this past year really grabbed hold of me, other than the two above. I keep meaning to listen closer to that Arcade Fire album (their album Funeral is one of my favorite albums). Will get around to it eventually...
