is it common for people my age to feel like they're emotionally distant from everyone else and that they can't connect to others on the same level most people can or is that just me

I felt that way in highschool too.
I was socially awkward in general and had commitment issues, though. Since I got a job it's sorta forced me to communicate more, though I still feel like I'm on the outside looking in (to use a cliche).

So I finally decided to attempt a return to this site after receiving a permaban on another site, which kept me entertained for a couple of years.
