Did anyone see the Fates Warning show in Toronto, Live at The Opera house on Nov/20/2013??

I must say, it was an incredible performance but Frank Aresti was not there, but it was still a great show none the less.

Here is the set list.

One Thousand Fires
Life In Still Water
One
APSOG 3
Another Perfect Day
Down To The Wire
APSOG 6
Pieces
I Am
11th Hour
Point Of View
Firefly
Wish
APSOG 11
Through Different Eyes
Monument
Still Remains
Eye To Eye ( they didn't get to play this one cause they ran out of time)

Anyway. It's a great set list, but I would have loved to have heard more songs from their latest album considering its been 9 goddam years.

Your thoughts. If any....at all.

Slightly disappointed with their latest album as I was expecting more (except for the closing track which is good ol' FW).
Read reviews of concerts of this tour with mixed comments, generally good but not ecstatic.

Have the good days gone? Not sure. A lot of new FW stuff reminds me of OSI now. How was Alder's voice?

Why was Frank Aresti absent? Who filled in for him?

I didn't even know they were going to play in Toronto, not that I have the money to go anyways but I would have loved to have seen them.

^^ Michael Adbow is replacing him for the whole of the tour I think, at least he was in the Greek shows as I learned

I don't think they played Eye To Eye in Louisville either. That's ok because Still Remains was a really good encore

Well, the setlist is the same as it was in Budapest, but that's hardly a surprise if they play with a replacement guitarist.
Frank Aresti could not participate because of his job.
Yeah, dear downloaders musicians don't always make that many billions...
The new FW album is really good BTW.Smile

"That many billions"!

In Fates' case, they probably don't make much at all. I just assumed Frank was doing the tour.

It always seems that we can never get the Full Fates Line up. Micheal Adbow did a great job filling in for Frank, but Frank is better I am sorry to say. I didn't love the guitar distortion sounds Adbow chose for certain songs like monument, Still Remains and life in Still Water. Had a great time though. I was up front and center. Literally 2 feet away from the band because their was no barrier or metal gate at the front stage! Love that.

Oh John (Mellotron storm) wish you were there man. You would've loved it.

Alder's voice was pitch perfect man. He can still sing very well. His voice is a bit deeper now and he doesn't hold the long-higher pitched vocal notes for as long on certain songs like life in still water, point of view and one. High pitched range is lost a bit, but he still sounds great. Also, did you know he is a big time smoker?
Man. I don't know how he does it. The new album really is tailored to his stronger vocal capabilities that he has presently.

When he sung I AM he absolutely nailed it.

Yeah but it's taking off early from work and paying for gas and parking. Only $23?  I probably would have.LOL I thought the tickets would have been more. I've just been in this "don't spend money" mindset for a year now so it's been easy to not consider things I would have not even thought about doing in the past.

Holy crap, I just saw that they're playing in Tempe on Saturday for $15. I've gotta talk to the wife about a little road trip north about 90 minutes. I haven't seen Fates live since they opened for DT lo those many years ago.
Would be so amazing to see them again.

Evening Gentleman and possibly some ladies? (Doubt it.)

I wanted to share my more or less fairly one-sided enthusiastic review of the latest Fates Warning album.
Comments and criticisms are warranted. :)

Prog on.
