I say Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher as the two sided Dr Who, fighting himself

I assume therefore that kicking said fictional aliens in the nether regions would hurt one's foot somewhat?

Yep, it's an old board game from Waddingtons where you have to guess a word derived from the names famous fictional characters as someone acts out a scene from the books. For example Bunburying, Malapropism... Ermm ... as you can see, as an idea it never caught on. Confused

What?

I know other Dr Who threads exist, but I thought it would be more apt to Lazarus this old thread:

I think I read on the Dark Horizons movie site that there's going to be a `The New Who' live special on TV in the UK or something this weekend where the new lead will be announced?

Anyway, I vote for Craig Ferguson! The guy is a diehard Who-vian as well!

It'd be pretty amazing and wonderful if Idris Elba got it!

I could easily imagine Benedict Cumberbatch (the guy from Sherlock) doing it, but maybe they'll go for an older doctor this time.  I'd like Rik Mayall.

I've hoped for a female Doctor for some time (could see some new and interesting opportunities for the sonic screwdriver then), but wouldn't expect it.

Hmm.

"It's the biggest secret in showbiz, even those working with the new Doctor on other projects at the moment have no idea they are in the presence of the 12th incarnation."

Seeing as the bookies stopped taking bets on Capaldi on Friday, apparently not such a big secret!

Rik Mayall??? Confused How could one watch Dr. Who with the former actor from the New Statesman or Bottom? I couldn't help waiting for the Doctor to play some Bad News songs on his bass!

Oh well I was hoping for Holly Willoughby but Peter Capaldi will do (Good choice I think he's a bit Scottish though....David Tennant but a bit older)).

No, really. This whole thing is just a ploy, then there's gunna be a surprise twist and I am made the new doctor.
I also am allowed to write scripts.
I may go in a car direction now, like the Dr and The Stig get drunk and start racing Ferrari's around. Maybe crash a Mitchell & Webb party.

To me he looks like Tennant a little too much. Not that that is a problem per say.

It sure would be fun, though.  They haven't usually gone for such well-recognised doctors, but he's versatile.  He could be a TimeLord Flashheart.  His Rik Mayall Presents series made the biggest impression on me, by the way.

Choosing Jon Culshaw of Dead Ringers would open up some past incarnation possibilities.

EDIT: Capaldi announced as the new Doctor by the BBC:

Good call, Holly would have been great.

It was a bit odd watching the BBC "exclusive" reveal of Peter Capaldi last night when it had obviously already been leaked.
