Hi Dear friends, we present you the new issue branded MIRROR RECORDS (the label directed by Fabio Zuffanti)

UNREAL CITY with their first album "La crudeltà di Aprile"

Unreal City are a young band from Parma, who present a symphonic prog-rock with strong dark and gothic influences. Born in April 2008 from an idea of keyboardist / singer Emanuele Tarasconi and guitarist Francesca Zanetta, the original line-up was then joined by Francesco Orefice on bass guitar (in 2010) and Federico Bedostri on drums (in 2012). In June 2012 Unreal City released a self-produced EP and were therefore contacted by Fabio Zuffanti (Hostsonaten, La Maschera Di Cera, Finisterre…), who decided to produce the band's first album for the label Mirror Records. “La Crudeltà Di Aprile” has been recorded at Hilary Studio in Genoa under the expert guidance of Rossano “Rox” Villa; it contains surprisingly mature music, mixed with modern lyrics, that were written in English first, and then translated back to Italian, to clearly transmit the album’s message. The thread that binds tightly the stories tells about corruption of things and people, changes, and self evolution. Unreal City play instruments such as Hammond and Liturgical Organs, Mellotron, Moog, Clavinet, Rhodes, vintage special effects, reverb and tape echo. Original drum lines push a ‘70s-like music into a more modern and attractive contest, while maintaining certain fixed and essential prog patterns. Clear ideas, intelligence and an uncommon musical culture for such a young band are the basic ingredients that the four musicians put out, to propose a project that won’t leave indifferent any listener.
Available in CD digipack from April 29, 2013 on MIRROR RECORDS / BTF.

Thanks!

Carlo Carnevali

The song is promising. I could consider buying the album, but is it planned to upload one or two other tracks?

From today, is online the videoclip of the first single, "Dove La Luce è Più Intensa", from the album "La Crudeltà Di Aprile" (BTF/Vinyl Magic). It talks about the lacanian psychoanalytic theory of the "mirror phase" and the Jungian concept of "Collective Inconsciuos".

Hope you like it!

Cheers,
WA

One of the years best albums so far, and a first-rate modern RPI Italian prog release. The boys and gal in the band should be very proud of what they've achieved.

The band will will be added to the website very soon, and I've got a very positive review ready to go as well.

Well done guys, the band was added to the Progarchives by my fellow RPI team member Seventhsojourn, I've put up a very positive review, and there's also been several over high-rating votes for the debut album already too!
