Smile  Such a beautiful tune. Very nostalgic sounding, I don't know that doesn't really make any sense, but you know what I mean. Approve

^Is that from a "new" release Steve?

My pick for yesterday(an hour ago) would be Echo and the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon.

Today I'm going with Dungen - Har du värt i Stockholm off of their second, unfairly overlooked, album Stadsvandringar. A personal fave.

Dungen!   Such a great group. I think my favorite album of theirs is Tio Bitar. Thanks again for hipping me to them.

As for the Kraan, it's from their 1989 album Dancing in the Shade, which I enjoy a lot.

Always a pleasure Steve.
Tio Bitar is fantastic too. I love the early morning feel of it. Always seem to spin it in the mornings for some reason.

About Kraan though, it really makes me think that I need to dive into their later output.

Btw, have you ever heard a band called Black Mountain? Their second album In the Future is a real gem. As a matter of fact, I'm listening to it right now.

Ohh almost forgot. Brilliant new avi. Melike.

I haven't heard of Black Mountain, but I have heard White Mountain by Genesis, so I imagine it just sounds like the opposite of that.

Dancing in the Shade is the one of only 2 post-70s Kraan albums I have (the other is Nachtfahrt, which I also love), I'm thinking I should get some more too.  It's kind of a smooth jazz/pop version of their early sound, with accessible poppy songs interspersed with typical fusiony instrumentals.  I think they handled the 80s with class and style, keeping with the times without embarrassing themselves.

"Rockets", the favorite song I mentioned today, is a clear standout on the album, kind of a raging space-rocker with a knockout chorus.

You know what, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of those kraut fusion acts such as Kraan, Embryo and Guru Guru all have made some real humdingers in recent years. They've all released albums at least...
From what you describe, then I am definitely hooked on that Kraan release.

Black Mountain really doesn't sound like Genesis. Good call.
It's a mix of psych rock, heavy and a female vocalist that sounds a bit like Grace Slick. Big booming vibrato vocals.

I like vibrato female vocals.  Which reminds me, about a week ago I happened upon a post of yours mentioning Jacula, so I checked them out.  Their first few albums are on youtube.  That lady has a cool voice.
